RECYCLING BOXES SCORE AN ACE AT THIS YEAR’S RWM

One exhibitor within the Machinery & Equipment zone is Dolav, whose plastic pallet boxes are said to last a long time and are recyclable. End-of-life boxes are ground down to pea-sized pellets and returned to the Dolav factory and made into wheelie bins. The recycled plastic is then set for decades of use in domestic waste recycling. Now, 10% of the electricity used in making new boxes or wheelie bins is produced by factory roof mounted solar panels. Abuse tested by TÜV SÜD, Dolav Ace boxes are used in recycling and waste handling environments. They are a one-piece moulding with integral runners. They are so strong and long lasting, recyclers select them to store and transport lead-acid batteries and call them, ‘The Battery Ace.’ The Ace has ‘Hygienic Design’ says Campden BRI. Like all Dolav plastic pallet boxes, it uses virgin, FDA-

approved, food-quality HDPE. They are easy to clean to meet food hygiene demands for handling and recycling by-product and waste in food production facilities. Supermarket Aldi, recycles waste food to make electricity and uses Dolav plastic pallet boxes. An Aldi spokesperson said: "As a responsible retailer, we are always looking for ways to continue to be environmentally friendly. The Dolav boxes are solid and do not leak, they are very easy to wash and keep clean. They are robust - the modular one-piece moulding design means they don't break and the pallet size fits our systems." The Ace (and lid) is available in nine colours. Customers can have local on-box printing and customisation. New at the show is the hygienic Dolav DFLC. It stacks, tips, folds and holds 750kg in 600 litres, and has been called ‘The Folding Ace’. relevant to those responsible for waste management and resource, legislative issues. Municipal waste management strategy and best practice is explored, together with exhibitors and content relevant to managers of fleets of vehicles. Other trails include the Energy Solutions Trail; the Water Marketplace Trail; the New Exhibitor Discovery Trail; and the Great British Trail, which is organised in partnership with the UK Department for International Trade. As well as a return of the outside area at the 2017 show, other key features at the event include RWM Connects, a complimentary matchmaking service allowing exhibitors and visitors to use our database to arrange meetings prior to the show, and the CIWM Resource and Waste Clinic, which will see industry experts on-hand over the course of the show offering advice and insight.

INTERNATIONAL FOCUS Meanwhile, the UK’s Department for International Trade is returning to RWM 2017 to offer visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to gain insight and advice about exporting products and internationalising their business. There will also be the opportunity to

have some fun at RWM 2017 by making use of the four-hole Pitch & Put crazy golf course and bar at the back of Hall 5, sponsored by Adtrak. It’s a great way to network in a relaxed setting away from the hubbub of the main show.
