dding a preset quantity of water to a mix has long been carried out using pails or hosepipes. Not very accurate and certainly not consistent. Now, Hertfordshire company Aquameter has developed the ABACUS digital water measuring system for dispensing accurate preset quantities of water straight into mixing vessels, tanks, etc.

Easy to install and simple to use, the ABACUS delivers repeatable results day in, day out, reliably and consistently. Thousands of units have been sold worldwide to a whole variety of industries where water is added to powders or granules for mixing purposes. Just dial in the batch amount required and press the start button. The unit stops the flow of water when the required quantity has been delivered …….. easy !

Photoelectric all-rounder BOS 21MADCAP G

enerating, transporting and processing information are central tasks in the Industry 4.0 environment. The basis for all the information is intelligent sensors which provide the required input. With their BOS 21M ADCAP at the Hannover Messe Balluff will be showing a newly developed optical multifunction sensor, the BOS 21M series.

The versatile all-rounder uses red light and lets you choose from among four sensor modes: background suppression, energetic diffuse, retroreflective or through-beam sensor. All the sensor functions can be configured over IO-Link while the system is running, so that a remote teach-in can be initiated by the controller.

In addition i detects actual operating conditions, collects and processes information and provides far more data than just the switching signal over IO-Link. Detection signals are prepared and pre-processed in the sensor.
