EMS & PRODUCT DESIGN FEATURE Measuring up
nalog Devices announces the release of MeasureWare, a plug and play suite of hardware measurement kits and software studio tools to help fulfi l the growing need for precision measurement across multiple industries: precision agriculture, machine health monitoring, electrochemistry, among others. The introduction of MeasureWare marries ADI’s electronic engineering experience with those who require real-time data insights, yet may lack the time or expertise to digest corresponding datasheets or complete complex fi rmware development. ADI’s MeasureWare solutions are built to interface devices, enabling users to measure the datasets relevant to their respective projects, such as temperature, weight, humidity, pH, pressure, etc. MeasureWare also off ers fl exibility to adjust and change measurement parameters as a project evolves. “We created MeasureWare to provide precision measurement solutions to a growing customer base seeking to leverage the best of ADI’s technology, without needing to become fl uent in component and hardware specifi cations,” said Lorna Keane, director of MeasureWare, Analog Devices: “With MeasureWare and our partner network, we support users through their measurement journey.”

Opening the door to gateway IoT applications
S
emtech looks to ease the design of Smart home and building applications with its LoRa Corecell reference design for indoor gateway applications.
The reference design is comprised of two new integrated circuits (ICs), LoRa-based gateway baseband transceiver (SX1302) and the low power multi-band Sub-GHz RF Front End (SX1250), resulting in a bill of materials (BOM) cost reduction, a small package form factor and an increase in performance based on a larger number of modulators and demodulators.
“The LoRa Corecell reference design’s key features aim to
eliminate design complexity and accelerate time-to-market,” said Pedro Pachuca, director of IoT for Semtech’s wireless and sensing products group: “As Semtech announced earlier this year, the company is committed to developing a LoRa product roadmap that simplifi es Internet of Things (IoT)
applications, enabling a faster time-to- market for IoT solution providers and systems integrators. This new reference design is key to our LoRa off erings, as more customers look for solutions that solve daily challenges.”
