ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

The New Smart Sensor

known as “predictive maintenance” or “Condition Monitoring“. With our new Smart Sensor CSS 014 STEGO offer a “plug and play“ product for

S

monitoring installations, including remote monitoring, which allows an immediate response to unwanted changes. The sensor detects the ambient temperature and humidity. The recorded data then is converted into a standardized analog 4-20 mA signal and passed on to a control and monitoring unit. The control unit interprets the signal and initiates appropriate measures.

FEATURES SMART SENSOR CSS 014

• Sensor, interface and transmitter in one • Wide temperature and humidity measuring range (-40 to +60 °C / 0 to 100 % RH)

TEGO the “Thermal Management“ experts go beyond just climatisation. A new technology development will enable action before a problem arises – this is also

• High accuracy • Easy DIN clip or screw mounting • Quick connection with M12 connector • Small size (140 x 40 x 38 mm)

The Smart Sensor CSS 014 is not only suitable for installation in enclosures or control cabinets, it can also find use in a variety of applications (application areas according to IEC 61010-1/DIN EN 61010-1).

Another UK first, for CEM Gemini Tec Ltd. A

s part of a planned £250,000 factory upgrade in 2018, Gemini Tec have installed the latest Asscon VP2000, a fully in-line vapour phase reflow oven and the first of its kind in operation at a UK based CEM.

Vapour phase reflow provides significant advantages over standard convection reflow methods, by removing the need to engineer and re-engineer a variety of oven profiles to suit the PCBA board being produced, which can be a calculated compromise between the solder paste and the components being used. The reflow capability ensures PCBA’s are not exposed to excessive heat and receive uniform heat distribution until fully reflowed.

This latest round of investment further increases the capability on Gemini Tec’s flagship Mycronic SMT line, which uses solder jet printing technology, eliminating the use of stencils, delivering the optimum volume of solder paste onto every pad prior to placement and reflow. The VP2000 is the company’s second investment into vapour phase reflow produced by ASSCON. These ovens are best suited to complex and high mix PCBA products where BGA, QFN and devices with small process windows are being used. To meet the requirements of Gemini Tec’s growing customer base, capability also includes the benefit of vacuum processing to create void free joints.

Gemini Tec has been operating for 40 years, providing its expertise to a variety of customers who require complex products for use in areas such as transportation, automotive, motorsport, avionics, sub-sea, broadcast and audio markets to name a few.
