Thermal imaging and furnace surveys

F

luke Process Instruments offers a comprehensive range of temperature monitoring solutions for primary and

secondary metals manufacturing. The company has just introduced ThermoView TV40 thermal imagers with an integrated visible-light camera. Designed for fixed installation, this new series is ideal for iron foundries where the imagers check temperatures of molten metal and monitor ladles to ensure that the refractory lining is intact. Users can define various areas of interest with distinct alarm conditions. The analysis software enables easy traceability for each melt. Fluke Process Instruments furthermore offers temperature profiling solutions for downstream steel and metals processing. The Datapaq Furnace Tracker based on the Datapaq TP3 data logger with up to 20 measurement channels enables furnace surveys according to NADCAP AMS 2750E and CQI-9. The systems include analysis and reporting software, thermocouples, and thermal barriers for maximum protection at high temperatures up to 1200 °C. They are also used for in-process product temperature profiling.

METCASE Launches New 19” Rack Enclosures M

ETCASE has created a new 19” mini-rack version of its advanced TECHNOMET table-top instrument enclosures. The new TECHNOMET

cases are designed for mounting standard 19” subracks, chassis and front panels. Applications will include test and measurement equipment, sound and studio systems and laboratory instruments. These elegant and ultra-modern enclosures have a flush-fitting cohesive design with no visible fixing screws. Standard 19” panel mounts with caged nut apertures for fixing the equipment are included in the front and rear bezels. There are three standard case sizes: 3U, 4U and 6U, all with a depth of 400 mm. Custom depths can be supplied on request. The rear and base panels are ventilated to aid cooling. Inside there are two subrack/chassis support rails. All case panels include earth connections. ABS side handles are recessed for

easy portability. Non-slip feet are also included. METCASE can supply TECHNOMET 19” enclosures fully customised. METCASE Enclosures

Easy Control of MIPI TFT Displays with the PrismaMIPI-HDMI/LVDS TFT Controller

T

he demand for efficient display technology is rising as we see a trend towards more compact TFT displays delivering a high

resolution output. LVDS technology no longer has the flexibility as an interface to meet these requirements. The MIPI Alliance (Mobile Industry Processor Interface Alliance), an association of numerous well-known electronic companies, has therefore developed the MIPI- DSI (Display Serial Interface), which is increasingly used for TFT displays with small diagonals and high resolutions from 720 x 1280

pixels. The versatile MIPI-DSI is an energy-efficient high-speed interface with low liability for interference. The MIPI TFT displays can be integrated quickly and easily into modern applications using the Prisma-MIPI TFT controller. The Prisma-MIPI TFT controller is available as two options, the PrismaMIPI-HDMI and PrismaMIPI-LVDS. Both options consist of a baseboard that can be easily adapted to your corresponding TFT display and a HDMI to MIPI-DSI respectively a single/dual LVDS to MIPI-DSI bridge module.

New Spot Size Calculator App F

luke Process Instruments has released the new Spot Size Calculator app for Android and iOS mobile devices,

for desktop computers running Windows 10, and as an online app for use with all common internet browsers. It integrates all Fluke Process Instruments infrared spot sensors and thermal imagers as well as legacy Raytek and Ircon devices. Users simply select a product and enter the mounting distance. The app then calculates the spot diameter or camera field of view. This will help customers find the right spot pyrometer for their installation environment – the measured object must be larger than the spot size to prevent measuring errors. In addition, the app will help customers optimally set up thermal cameras so they focus all areas of interest. The app supports English, German, French, Spanish, and Chinese.

EMC filters with high frequency stability are

compact, quiet and versatile

filters with high frequency stability for power electronic applications. The materials have been developed especially for these applications. They are effective for frequencies up to the gigaHertz range. Interference levels are as much as 40 dB[µV] lower than with standard technologies. The filters are compact, up to 30 % lighter, and noiseless due to magnetorestriction-free materials. The efficiency of the power electronic system is improved due to very low losses. Fewer filter components are needed, so volume is reduced. The filters can be manufactured with single or magnetically coupled chokes, offering a choice for reducing common mode and differential mode interference.
