Marching through the Year T

his issue, Electronics Today is exploring the advances in Medical, Military and Industrial electronics with the help of TUV SUD, BAE Systems, Keysight and Swindon Silicon Systems; from UK Conformity Assessed marking to 20 additional CV90 mortar systems for the Swedish Army. In this month’s Test and Measurement feature, Renesas explains how new wireless device charging technology improves efficiency, measurement accuracy and user safety while reducing EMI. Andrew Keith, division director of load bank manufacturer Power Prove, explains how businesses can maintain their backup power supply to avoid expensive downtime in the Power feature. The issue’s Enclosures feature sees Chris Lloyd, Managing Director of Spelsberg UK, discuss the benefits

of trace heating thermostat protection in preventing frozen pipes and improving energy efficiency. Silviu Tuca, the radar-based autonomous vehicle product line manager for Keysight Technologies, explains the challenges to overcome when moving from the road to the lab when it comes to full vehicle autonomy, to kick off this month’s Automotive Electronics feature. Automation specialist SAR then explains how it has developed a complete production line for the fully-automatic manufacture of the electronics module – which forms the heart of electric cars – using eleven KUKA robots.

This issue also sees the introduction of a brand-new column to the magazine, Electronics Today’s Bright Spark. This is an interview column to shine a light on the fresh talent breaking through in the electronics industry.

Impulse Embedded near 30-year milestone

Impulse Embedded, a provider of industrial computing systems and solutions, will celebrate 30 years in the fast-moving world of embedded computing in 2023.
