Smiths Interconnect launches new fixed chip attenuators offering proven high performance in commercial applications
AT Series ensures ease of installation in an optimized single-chip design
Smiths Interconnect, a leading provider of technically differentiated electronic components, subsystems, microwave, optical and radio frequency products, announces the launch of its new AT Series of RF chip attenuators from DC to 20 GHz. RF chip attenuators are components used in communication systems to reduce the strength of a signal passing through it. They play a crucial role in protecting systems from receiving a signal with a power level that is too high to process. The range being introduced from Smiths Interconnect is significant because it offers a high frequency of DC to 20 GHz which is required for use in key commercial and space applications. “The single-chip design of the AT Series replaces an array of resistors, saving valuable board space and allowing an easy installation in the customer’s circuit”, said Tullio Panarello, VP and General Manager of the Fibre Optics and RF Components Business Unit at Smiths Interconnect. “The customer’s cost of ownership is decreased by reducing the bill of material and eliminating tuning of the circuit while adding more reliability”, he added.

New Omron AC PCB Relay Delivers Its Highest Load Capacity
Omron Electronic Components Europe has extended its AC relay portfolio to provide its highest ever current and voltage capacity for AC PCB relays. The new G9KA-E operates with voltage capacity up to 1000VAC, and current up to 300A – one of the highest specifications in the current PCB relay market.
Omron’s G9KA high-power relay series guarantees a mechanical lifetime of 100,000 operations. The ultra-low contact resistance of 0.2mOhm maximum minimises contact terminal heating allowing it to carry high current loads. The plunger-type relay structure provides high endurance and lower power consumption, whilst well-designed terminals improve heat dissipation, further enhancing safety and longevity.
Applications include grid-tie inverters and uninterruptible power supplies. The G9KA series can be applied to inverters for photovoltaic and energy storage systems. Specifically, the G9KA-E is suitable for use in 200-400kVA / 600-800VAC inverters. Omron’s G9KA-E AC PCB relay is also ideal for UPS input and output lines, providing disconnect from the grid and the load. A particular advantage here is G9KA-E’s suitability for power supplies that incorporate 100-200kVA, 3-phase 400VAC input/output circuits.
Replacing conventional contactors in all applications, these new PCB high-power relays reduce system weight and size whilst enabling simpler manual or automated assembly.

From now on DISPLAY VISIONS is offering a USB demo board for IPS displays from 0.9” to 3.5”. With the EA 9782-1USB, DISPLAY VISIONS GmbH is providing developers with a USB test board for small IPS displays from the EA TFT product line. This allows the small panels, including the variants with touch function
(-AITC), to be tested and adapted quickly and easily without any specific knowledge of the hardware or software. The demo board can be run immediately on any USB charger. Connected to a Windows PC and accessed via the startTFT.exe program, it opens up more options to display your own images or control the brightness. An additional power supply is not necessary in this case. A bundle including the display is also available.

OKW has added a new slimline S size to its CONNECT range of handheld plastic enclosures for wired electronics. Versatile CONNECT is ideal for data systems engineering, networks, building services technology, safety engineering, IoT/ IIoT sensors, medical devices, measurement and control.
CONNECT enclosures comprise two sections – one flat and recessed for a membrane keypad, the other curved and tactile. Rounded corners add further ergonomic comfort.
CONNECT’s two shells snap together; there are no fixings screws – reducing assembly time and giving designers a choice of two ‘fronts’. Apertures at both ends can be fitted with either a cable gland or end panel.
The enclosures offer plenty of space for compact displays, LEDs and USB connectors. Inside, the flat section has pillars for fitting PCBs and other components.
New CONNECT S is 42 mm wide, 22 mm high and available in three lengths: 60, 90 and 120 mm. (Existing size M is 54 x 22 x 76/116/156 mm.) All the housings are moulded from UV-stable ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) in either off-white (RAL 9002) or black (RAL 9005).
Accessories include rail holding clamps, cable gland kits, end panels, wall holders and PCB mounting screws.
