TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION ADVERTORIAL

CHOOSING THE RIGHT MOUSE

T

he Evoluent C showcases a modern black and silver design, with a luxurious look and longer buttons for an

improved grip. The unique design reduces the angle between the wrist and hand for a more ergonomically responsible position, with a less convex shape to fit the palm better and increase comfort. For ultimate speed, excellent accuracy and improved comfort, the Evoluent C is a must in every office. BakkerElkhuizen are the UK distributor for the full Evoluent series.

High power radio modem features Category 1 receiver R

adiometrix has launched a high power narrowband radio modem that provides an RF output of up to 500 mW with a data rate of up to 19200 bps. The HNM2 meets the ETSI EN 300 220-1 Category 1 specification for high

performance receivers where a short range radio device may have inherent implications for the safety of human life. This makes the multichannel, low power consumption device suitable for use in safety critical wireless applications such as social alarms and healthcare monitoring. Current consumption is only 280 mA for transmit and 40 mA for receive, from a supply voltage of 6 V to 16 V dc.

Providing a direct interface to SPI, USB, RS232 and RS485 serial ports, it measures only 80 mm x 86 mm x 15 mm. Power can be provided via the USB link or an external supply. Offering point-to-point and point-to-multipoint communication, the frequency programmable HNM2 has a store

and forward repeater mode using dual addressing to extend its operating range. Other features include a range test mode, a SAW front end filter, 12.5 kHz / 25 kHz channel spacing, data

whitening using a pseudo-random sequence, and a digital received signal strength indicator. The modem can be specified to operate on the licence exempt bands of 458 MHz in UK or 169 MHz and 869 MHz

in the EU. Custom frequency bands are also available from 160 MHz to 915 MHz. Channel selection is made by means of a rotary hex switch or using AT commands. As well as social alarms and healthcare monitoring, the HNM2 is suitable for IoT and other applications, including high end security and fire alarms, lone worker alarms, industrial / commercial telemetry and telecommand, in- building environmental monitoring and control, vehicle data up/download, and automatic meter reading.

Flange plate KDS-FP – cable management at its best W

www.radiometrix.com

ith the KDS-FP flange plate, CONTA-CLIP take the tool-free click-and- push concept of their cable entry system KDSClick to a larger scale for

control cabinet construction, and are launching the new, patent-pending solution at the SPS IPC Drives trade show in November 2017. With this system extension, the connection technology experts primarily address the needs of series machine and special purpose machinery manufacturers, who are dealing with wiring requirements for cabinet packing that keep changing all the time. KDS-FP is an extra-flexible solution for managing cables and pneumatic or hydraulic tubes: the number and diameters of the required openings can be seamlessly adapted at any time without drilling, sawing or other machining. At all times, the system reliably provides IP66 sealing. First, a cavity with standard dimensions in the cabinet wall is fully and tightly sealed by screwing on the flange plate. Then, up to three plate segments can be broken off at predetermined breaking points as needed without the use of tools.

luke Process Instruments is happy to announce that Stewart Griffiths has joined the product management team in Cambridge, UK, as of January 2018. As the new Datapaq product specialist, Griffiths will be looking after the

temperature profiling business worldwide. This encompasses all Datapaq product families: solutions for profiling temperatures in ovens, furnaces, kilns, reflow lines, cook and chill processes in the food and beverage industries, and solar/photovoltaics industry heat treatment applications. Griffiths who has worked in the aerospace industry for over 12 years has extensive experience in heat treatment and furnace applications and NADCAP and CQI-9 auditing requirements. This knowledge will help his team at Fluke Process Instruments develop turnkey solutions for the aerospace and automotive industries. Stewart comments, “Having spent 12 years in the contract heat treatment industry, I have always been aware of the benefits of the Fluke Process Instruments profiling solutions. Over those years, I have developed a broad knowledge of the heat treatment industry, particularly regarding aerospace metrology requirements.

ew KES series of gland plates from CONTA-CLIP enables the quick and safe introduction of cables and tubes

without connectors into cabinets and machine housings. KES plates provide IP66 ingress protection with no need to specially fit and secure cables with screws. The robust polyamide frames filled with elastomer are placed on the outside of the cabinet or housing wall and fixed with screws onto 36 mm x 112 mm openings. The plates feature a low profile height of only 14 mm. For a toolless installation, they can also be snapped-on. In this case, the screw holes remain completely sealed thanks to the layer of elastomer. To insert cables, the outer membrane of the gland plate is pierced with a pointed tool at a designated entry point. The wires are then simply pushed through. Aside from the punctured membrane, the conical entry grommets on the back of the plate provide an extra double sealing of the cables with IP 66 ingress protection as well as reliable strain relief.
