Honeywell components for industrial applications
Limit switches plus pressure, angular position and humidity sensors I
ndustrial automation systems require components demonstrating exceptional durability because such factors as the precision and lifetime of sensors, which sometimes are not larger than an SMD chip, determine the effective operation of entire transmission lines and complex robot-assisted systems. Therefore, we always advise our customers to purchase solutions from internationally recognised providers, such as Honeywell. The following product range described is presented to illustrate selected well-thought-out solutions designed by Honeywell. Their characteristic features include precision and excellent durability, and their formats and parameters simplify the implementation process. This applies to both sub-assemblies for building industrial equipment and stand-alone modules installed in existing systems.

MIP pressure transducers The MIP series of sensors comprises industrial components with reinforced bodies (IP67-rated), where a sensor is separated from the medium measured. They can handle water, including potable

water, as well as corrosive substances with the temperature ranging from -40°C to 125°C. They are connected to systems via 1/4-inch threads. Depending on the model, these sensors measure absolute pressure in relation to vacuum, or relative pressure ranging from 0–1 bar to 0–50 bar. They come with temperature compensation circuits to
ensure the measurement accuracy of ±0.15%. The analogue output adopts a value that is proportional to the pressure measured, so this range extends from 10% to 90% of the supply voltage. The sensor specification facilitates their application in hydraulic and water supply systems, food processing industry and HVAC systems, to handle coolants such as butane, propane, ammonia and CO2. Furthermore, they can be used with fuels like petrol or diesel, and even in medical systems to measure the pressure of gases such as oxygen, nitrogen and air.

Honeywell also provides component sensors, such as sensors mounted on PCBs being components of some larger equipment. These include the HIH-4xxx (HumidIcon) humidity sensors housed in SIP3 packages and equipped with voltage outputs. Their very low power consumption facilitating their application in mobile devices, for example remote environmental condition monitors, is their overriding feature. They can be supplied with voltages from 4 V to 5.8 V DC. Other related Honeywell sensors that are available include the
