Welcome to the May issue of Electronics for Engineers

I

’m delighted to return to Electronics for Engineers, as interim editor, and I’d like to wish Yasmin Nolan well on her next project.

Following the UK/India trade deal, announced earlier this month, my email inbox has been fl ooded with news releases about India, but one particular email made me squint twice, such was the colossal nature of the information provided.

The Indian electronics industry aims to achieve $500 billion in output by 2030, but faces a critical challenge, with a widening skills gap.

Interim Editor sking@datateam.co.uk

A new report, People, Supply Chain Innovation with ROI, states that India has a pressing defi cit of 10 million trained professionals, which underscores the urgent need to bridge this gap to sustain and amplify growth in the electronics sector.

What could this mean for the UK? Where there is a need, there is an opportunity!

In our May issue, we will be covering features including Power, Embedded Technology, Displays & UIs, Contract Manufacturing, Enclosures, Sensors, Distribution and Supply Chain. I do hope you fi nd this issue enjoyable and informative!
