NEW COLOURS FOR ENCLOSURE RANGE SUPPLEMENT ENCLOSURES & ENCLOSURE FURNITURE

In addition to the anthracite and light grey versions, METCASE’s TECHNOMET 19” mini-racks and 10.5” desktop enclosures are now available in traffic white/traffic grey. The enclosures are said to be ideal for standard 19” (84HP) or 10.5” (42HP)

subrack or chassis-based electronics such as test and measurement equipment, networking and communications devices, industrial computers, sound and studio systems, laboratory instruments and industrial control technology. They feature diecast bezels at the front and rear that fit flush with the main case body; snap-on trims hide the fixing screws; and recessed ABS side handles ensure easy portability. In addition, the 10.5” housings can be specified with an adjustable tilt/swivel carry handle that doubles as a desk stand. The base and removable rear panel are both ventilated and, inside, there are

subrack/chassis support rails included as standard. All case panels are fitted with M4 threaded pillars for earth connections.

These 3U, 4U, 5U and 6U enclosures

come in six standard sizes ranging from 156.6 x 323 x 330mm to 288.9 x 539 x 400mm, although custom sizes are available on request. Accessories include 19” mounting kits and 1U (vented/non- vented), 3U, 4U, 5U and 6U front panels. The enclosures can be supplied fully customised if required.

CUSTOMISED CASES FOR RELIABLE PROTECTION

Customised electronic cases and system solutions that provide reliable protection against extreme environmental influences are available from POLYRACK. The portfolio ranges from compact embedded

systems for mobile and stationary applications to customer-specific front plates and panels, and to complete systems for safety-critical applications. POLYRACK offers both standard ATR chassis

(1⁄2 to 11⁄2 ATR) and customised solutions for different bus boards (CompactPCI, VME/VME64x, VPX/OpenVPX). The ATR chassis comply with MIL-STD-810 (shock, vibration) and MIL- STD-461 (EMC) and are available in various cooling options: convection, airflow, conduction, hybrid with liquid or air cooling. Special designs include the 4MCU ARINC 600 cases with hybrid cooling and high-power consumption, and the robust SFF ATR case with conduction cooling in accordance with ARINC 404A.

GASKET SEALING SYSTEMS FOR ENCLOSURE DOORS

An ex-stock range of gasket sealing systems,

optimised for enclosure doors and specialist vehicles, is available from FDB Panel Fittings. These, the company explains, are designed to support

IP-rated protection against dust, water and vibration, as well as electromagnetic interference. A comprehensive selection of gasket profiles is available

from the FDB Online store, in various elastomeric materials including PVC, EPDM, Neoprene, NBR, and foam rubber- PVC combinations. These sections are available primarily in coiled format, enabling efficient handling and on-site customisation. Widths and profiles range from classic P-type sections and edge protectors to clip-on and channel-fitted variants, ensuring compatibility with a variety of door and frame geometries. Several EPDM profiles, offered in collaboration with specialist manufacturers, adhere to Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards, providing the basis for complete UL certification of cabinet assemblies. Extruded and foam-rubber composite sections are designed to maintain shape and integrity under compression, ensuring consistent achievement of sealing performance over multiple cycles. For door systems featuring inspection windows or sharp

frame edges, FDB offers dedicated edge-protection profiles and window glazing gasket solutions, ideal for safeguarding glass panes and preserving enclosure integrity. A specialised line of gasket profiles is also available to

order which integrates EMC/RFI shielding capabilities with standard environmental protection. These profiles allow simultaneous mitigation of electromagnetic interference while maintaining dust- and water-tight performance – a dual-function solution tailored for telecommunications, control cabinets, and secure enclosures. High torque swinghandles and multi-point rod latches complement the gasket systems.
