New ARALDITE® low odor, non-flammable structural adhesive offers high
performance and improved user wellbeing Huntsman announces the launch of ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive – a new low odor, non-flammable*, and primer-free structural acrylate adhesive that helps to increase end-customer and employee satisfaction, especially in confined working environments, while delivering exceptional bond performance. As an industry first, the new adhesive solves many of the long-standing issues manufacturers have had to endure when using traditional Methyl Methacrylate (MMA), Polyurethane (PU), and other adhesive products. “ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive is
truly unique,” said José Fanjul, Strategic Marketing Manager at Huntsman Advanced Materials. “This adhesive line can solve the long-standing issues associated with traditional MMA and PU adhesives and deliver sufficient bonding performance. It will be a game-changer for manufacturers who want a structural adhesive that not only increases productivity and saves costs, but also safeguards the wellbeing of their employees.”
Key features of ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive include:
• Low odor – with up to 90% less smell than traditional MMA products, ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive helps to increase end-customer and employee satisfaction, especially in confined working environments.
• Non-flammable classification* – unlike traditional MMA products, ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive helps to minimize costs for safety training, storage, transportation, and equipment. In addition, it eliminates the need for the installation and maintenance of designated flammable storage areas.
• No primer – ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive does not need a primer, as required by PU and epoxy products, which halves production times and reduces costs, while providing the same bonding strength.
• Low toxicity profile – ARALDITE® 2080 adhesive has an improved GHS classification, which means users will save on personal protective equipment costs and other risk management measures.

Space Qualified Interconnect Specifically designed and tested for High-Speed Space applications up to 10 Gbps
Smiths Interconnect, a leading provider of technically differentiated electronic components, subsystems, microwave and radio frequency products for demanding applications announced the release of its new NXS Series, the ultra-high density interconnect specifically designed and tested for critical space flight applications. Today, space satellites are moving away from RF Analog-based
payloads providing low-speed telecommunication signaling, to a new Digital Transparent Processor architecture for high throughput satellites. This architecture increases the demand for rugged and higher speed connectivity. NXS forms the interconnect backplane that enables a scalable satellite design using as
many or as few “modular digital processors” as required, at the same time ensuring signal integrity and high resistance to shock. “Satellite manufacturers often use large singular printed circuit boards featuring very high
value components. The NXS Series provides them with a solderless PCB mounted connector that can be placed and replaced with very low risk to their board“ said Mark Kelleher, Vice President and General Manager of the Connector Business Unit at Smiths Interconnect.
