CABLES & CONNECTORS PRODUCTS HYGIENIC CONNECTORS FOR MEDICAL USE
ODU has introduced the Push-Lock Medical, a variant of the proven modular ODU-MAC Blue-Line connector tailored to the medical environment. Aimed at applications that place the
highest demands on hygiene, reliability and user-friendliness, the connector features an intuitive push-pull locking mechanism that ensures a fast, secure and error-free connection. Furthermore, the modularity of the system allows individual adaptation to the specific requirements of the application, from signal and data transmission to power supply. Push-Lock Medical offers a long mechanical
life, ideal for applications with frequent mating cycles, and can be customised with
laser marking – logos, custom designs, etc. The Push-Lock Medical is particularly
suitable for devices that are used in demanding clinical environments. These include: • Aesthetic applications: Ideal for medical
devices used in aesthetic
dermatology, such as lasers or skin treatment devices that
require high levels of hygiene and precision. • Robotics: Reliable connections
for medical assistance systems and surgical robots that require precise control and secure data transmission.

MEDICAL CONNECTORS NOW IN BLACK
To meet industry demands, binder’s Easy Locking Connector (ELC) of the 570 series, originally developed for homecare applications and proven in medical applications, is now also available in black. The shock- and vibration-resistant ELC remains available in a 12-pin version. The Easy Locking Connector is
suitable for both medical applications and industrial requirements. Featuring a snap- in locking mechanism and an asymmetrical hexagonal contour in the plug section, this cable connector ensures high operational safety and a long service life. The ergonomically shaped housing is made of durable PA66 plastic. Offering over 5000 mating cycles, its snap-in
locking mechanism and asymmetrical hexagonal contour prevent incorrect mating. In addition, the connector’s design effectively prevents unauthorised opening and accidental contact with cable ends. If the cable connector needs to be reopened after assembly, a corresponding release tool is available. In addition, the flange socket is
protected against dust and splashing water with an IP54 rating, even when unplugged.

MILITARY SOLUTIONS The LMH Range of circular connectors from Weald Electronics are MIL-DTL-26482 Series 1 derived miniature bayonet locking connectors manufactured to meet the requirements of BS9522 F0017, BS/CECC 75201-003 and MIL-DTL-26482 military specification. Available from Lane Electronics, these fully
compliant COTS connectors offers added features such as PCB contacts, plating options and EMC grounding- fingers, while optional coarse ribbed coupling nuts on free connectors enable operation when using protective clothing. The connector shells are manufactured from aluminium alloy and are available in various highly corrosion resistant plating finishes. Inserts are of polychloroprene, compounded to a WEALD specification. Operating temperature range is -55˚C to +125˚C, and they have gold plated, non-removable, solder or PCB type contacts. LMH connectors may be polarised by varying the insert positions within the shell, providing up to four additional orientations other than Normal (N), designated W, X, Y, Z. According to the company, the comprehensive series is suitable for applications such as industrial equipment, factory automation, communications systems, tactical vehicles and defence systems.

New to Cliff Electronics’ FT range are the dual USB2.0 and USB3.0 FeedThrough connectors. Designed to offer both data transfer and power for accessories simultaneously, these are easy to integrate into panels, as both sides use standard USB cables. This simplifies the assembly process and makes it easier to service or repurpose. The FeedThrough connectors are designed to be
assembled into an industry standard 24mm diameter XLR connector panel cut-out in an enclosure or 19” rack panel. Using industry standard panel cut-outs simplifies system design and assembly and improves system aesthetics. Pre-assembled rack panels are available on request. Available in black plastic or more rugged silver finished
metal, suitable applications include automotive connectivity, consumer electronics, smart home devices, medical equipment, audio systems, charging stations and power banks. Cliff’s FeedThrough, and space saving DualSLIMS, connector range now provides Analogue,
Digital and Optical FeedThrough connectivity in formats including DisplayPort, Firewire, RJ45, HDMI and 50- and 75-ohm BNC versions, USB2 A-to-B and B-to-A ‘gender change’ sockets, high speed USB Type – C, USB3 to USB3 in all gender changing configurations – A-A, A-B and B- A. Also available are all popular data and Ethernet connectors including LC and SC fibre (Duplex & Simplex, APC, MM, OM3, ST and US Conec MTP), UTP and FTP RJ45s in both Cat6 and Cat5e (shielded and unshielded), Toslink, RCA Phono and blanking plates.

IP67-RATED CONNECTORS ARE LIGHT AND RUGGED
Featuring a lightweight thermoplastic design, Amphenol’s Amphe-PRB series connectors – available from Inelco Hunter – are a versatile and durable solution for one, two, or three-phase applications, accommodating up to five contacts. These also feature a dedicated ground contact. The thermoplastic shell is UL F1-rated for outdoor
use, offering resistance to ultraviolet light, water exposure and immersion. These features make the connectors ideal for use in challenging environments where ruggedness and reliability are paramount. The connector, which is designed to be touch-proof and features an IP67 rating, excels in field installations, offering both crimp and set screw terminations using standard contacts.
One of its most notable characteristics is the quick positive coupling enabled by its reverse bayonet design. This allows for a secure connection that reduces installation time, making it easier to ensure a solid, stable connection in high-vibration environments. Additionally, the Amphe-PRB connectors are rated to withstand shocks and vibrations up to 15g, which is critical for applications where consistent connectivity is essential, such as in industrial automation and heavy equipment. The connectors are suitable for a wide range of
applications in industries such as alternative energy, telecommunications, and anything powered by electric motors – including electric or hybrid vehicles.
