ADVERTORIALS Safety-related PLCs for Profisafe


The new AXC F XT SPLC 3000 safety controller from Phoenix Contact can be operated as a left-side extension module on the PLCnext Control AXC F 2152 and AXC F3152 devices. It extends the PLCnext portfolio with a powerful safety PLC for Profisafe devices in Profinet networks. The safety controller can be used in applications up to safety category SIL 3 in accordance with IEC 61508/61511 and PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1. In operation, the SPLC 3000 can communicate with up to 300 F-Devices as an F-Host and simultaneously act as an F-Device. The safety controller is fully integrated into the open PLCnext Technology ecosystem and provides a high degree of modularity in combination with the Profisafe I/O extensions of the Axiobus, which can be aligned on the right-hand side. The high-performance and redundantly designed ARM-based safety- related CPUs have a clock rate of 800 MHz for channel 1 and 600 MHz for channel 2.

PTG Workholding Ltd Leading engineering company Applied Automation (UK) Ltd has increased its precision engineering capabilities following the recent acquisition of PTG Workholding Ltd.


Bristol based PTG Workholding have been trading for over 30 years and supplies both UK and overseas markets with expanding mandrels capable of automatic and manual clamping in component bores. Thanks to their outstanding accuracy PTG’s mandrels deliver excellent holding power that can resist even the harshest cutting forces often imposed on the work piece.

Sloping Front OKW’s MOTEC desktop/portable electronic instrument enclosures are now available with


a sloping front for more ergonomic viewing and operation. MOTEC is ideal for measurement and control, peripheral devices and interfaces, laboratory equipment, medical and wellness electronics. These stylish compact enclosures are now available with a sloping plastic control panel (accessory) that is recessed to accommodate a membrane keypad. The alternative is a flat aluminium front/rear panel (accessory). Robust clip-together assembly saves time when fitting the electronics. For security, a


screwdriver is required to open the housings. Inside, there are screw pillars for PCBs, and guides for vertical partitions. The enclosures are supplied with four non-slip feet. These off-white (RAL 9002) ABS (UL 94 HB) housings are available in three plan sizes


(S, M, L) and a choice of height configurations. This creates a range of nine sizes from 155 x 105 x 40 mm to 235 x 165 x 85 mm. Two sizes (M and L) are available with or without tilt/swivel carry handle.


Accessories include sloping plastic control panels, anodised aluminium front/rear panels, and self-tapping PCB screws.
