ADVERTORIALS Robust switch for use in the field

The new IP67 Ethernet switch from Wieland Electric enables reliable operation even under the most adverse environmental conditions. Modular and flexible machine concepts are growing rapidly in

importance. As this happens, more and more automation parts are being connected in a way that is not centralized. This also applies to IP switches, which are no longer only mounted in the control cabinet, but also directly onto the machine. To ensure that network components operate reliably under these conditions, the devices must meet stringent specifications as they are directly exposed to potentially harmful influences such as dust, moisture, and electromagnetic radiation. Wieland Electric offers a suitable solution to this with its new IP67 switch. The wienet IP-SWITCH UMS 8-W-M12 is equipped with a

robust metal housing and can therefore be used under the most adverse environmental conditions. Splashed water, contamination and high temperatures up to 75° Celsius are handled without any problems. In addition, the switch complies with the EN 50155 standard, making it suitable for the harsh requirements of railroad applications.

Distribution Frame • Shallow-depth front-access cabling solution offers the ultimate in flexibility, manageability, scalability, and security

• Potential Floorspace reduction of 50% • 30% Faster Moves, Adds and Changes

Panduit has announced the new FlexCore™ Optical Distribution Frame [ODF], a versatile front- access cabling system that provides improved protection for critical fibre connections. Utilising innovative cable management and simple, intuitive cable routing, the FlexCore™ ODF simplifies and reduces time for moves, adds, and changes. With standard doors with locks and optional locks for each enclosure, the FlexCore™ ODF solution enables multi-tiered security an important addition for multiple client access.

The FlexCore™ ODF system can manage up to 3,168 fibres per frame, making it easy to

create multiple configurations using just three modular building blocks. This flexibility allows for design customisation and scalability while optimising both product availability and system density. Compared to typical data centre cabinets, FlexCore™ ODF can reduce floor space in a data centre by 50%*. In addition, with side panels and doors with locks, the FlexCore™ ODF solution allows the system to be completely enclosed and secure.

“As the value of each fibre circuit rises exponentially and networks continue to densify,

data centre managers who demonstrate greater scalability, agility, and resilience will gain a business advantage,” stated Stephen Morris, Panduit Senior Product Manager. “FlexCore™ delivers on all those fronts with its unrivalled manageability, scalability, fibre circuit protection, and security features.”

Panduit FlexCore™ Optical Distribution Frame offers multiple advantages over existing

products: • Highly intuitive cable routing paths remove guesswork and prevents ‘rip and replace’ costs

• Innovative cable management and lockable vertical cable manager doors eliminate circuit risk and downtime

• Up to 3,168 fibres per frame when using standard 24 fibre cassettes For more information on the FlexCore™ Optical Distribution Frame, please visit

Clip-on style gasket profiles from EMKA

for specialist enclosures and vehicles EMKA focus carefully on each aspect of industrial enclosure hardware design – nowhere more so than in the production of gasket sections for the exclusion of fingers, tools, dust and water. Often recognised as “P” type or “bubble” gaskets EMKA sections are a simple push-fit onto the frame edge of an enclosure or vehicle body and are available with factory joined corners that provide complete integrity around the door periphery while saving time in assembly at the factory. EMKA Clip-on gaskets include a spring steel spine within the moulding to provide a

strong fixing to the frame edge of the enclosure or larger cabinet. Being firmly held in place a clip-on gasket can provide a very effective and long-lived seal up to IP65.

Brammer Buck & Hickman and SKF release range of informative resources

on bearings in food & drink applications Brammer Buck & Hickman, the UK’s leading supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, has released a range of valuable resources on bearings aimed specifically at engineers operating in the food and drink sector; these include a webinar, a dedicated website section, a product brochure, a guide to the challenges faced in this sector, and several case studies. A recorded webinar, hosted by Brammer Buck & Hickman and presented by SKF, is

available on YouTube on the RubixTube channel. In under 40 minutes, the webinar examines the key issues that impact on bearings in the food & drink sector, with a focus on reducing risk when it comes to food safety. It also identifies bearings that are best suited to this industry and includes a preview of the latest products and technologies due to be released. For those that prefer to digest information in a different format, Brammer Buck &

Hickman has produced two new brochures: uk.rubix.com/supplier/skf/foodandbeverage. Brammer Buck & Hickman
