DRIVE PLATFORM FOR AGVS AND AMRS FEATURES WHEEL-MOUNTED GEARBOX
Bonfiglioli has introduced BlueRoll, a modular solution for driving AGVs and AMRs. At the heart of BlueRoll is the new wheel-mounted gearbox series: TQW. A single unit of the three available sizes can load up to 360, 720, or 1,020 kilograms respectively, and speeds up to 2m/sec. The gearbox is compact and almost completely enclosed by
the wheel. Thanks to the mounting flange with both threaded and pass-through holes, the TQW is very easy to install and,
on the vehicle-side, it can be fitted directly to the chassis. Furthermore, the wheel is supported directly by the reinforced gearbox bearings, which permit very high radial forces. The BlueRoll Advanced version comes with a servo geared motor with a permanent magnet synchronous
motor that matches the highest efficiency standards. The version called ‘BlueRoll Compact’ comes with an extra compact servo geared motor, saving 25% of the length of the BlueRoll Advanced system. In addition, it is designed to operate in S1 duty cycle with a reliable thermal optimisation. The motors offered in Advanced and Compact version come with a wide range of feedback systems, including safety encoders.

Nabtesco is expanding its Neco series of user-friendly gears series to include models that are dimensioned for heavy-duty applications. The new high-torque gears of the Neco HT series are designed for torque ratings from 3,800 to 7,000 Nm and guarantee high-precision positioning in scenarios involving large loads and high forces. They feature a clean and closed design, achieve high precision with a hysteresis loss of only 0.5 arc.min, and are extremely robust. According to the company, a unique aspect of the new series is
the high level of modularity and standardisation in the area of large precision gears. The combination of standardised elements easily allows for numerous defined interfaces for use with a broad spectrum of drives. This guarantees not only faster assembly and maximum flexibility with respect to the motor connection, but also economical series production and high availability with shorter delivery times. Neco HT high-torque gears are currently in prototype status. Three
sizes are currently planned: Neco HT-380 (3,800 Nm), Neco HT-500 (5,000 Nm) and Neco HT-700 (7,000 Nm).
