MEDIUM TENSILE FORGED STEEL PRODUCTS ADDED TO T-BOLT RANGE

WDS Component Parts has extended its offering of medium tensile T-bolts with the addition of a forged steel

option that provides more strength and wear resistance than mild steel. These are aimed at applications where the very high strength of low alloy, high tensile steel bolts is not appropriate. Designed for use with a threaded clamp, to position and secure workpieces for industrial machining, the T-bolts are manufactured in tempered forged steel. Available in sizes from M8 up to M30, and in lengths from 32mm to 400mm, they provide reliable fixture holding in high vibration and large diameter applications. T-bolts have a square or rectangular shape

for use in T-slots to provide flexible clamping systems for workpieces. T-bolts are similar to T-nuts in operation, but offer a male threaded extrusion for attaching modular elements to the fixture application. They are available in two tensile gradings. They meet Class 10.9 standards up to M12 for a minimum tensile strength of 1,040MPa, along with improved yield strength and proof strength, meeting the needs of heavier duty applications. Above size M16 they meet Class 8.8 standards offering a minimum tensile strength of 830Mpa. Visitors to the WDS website are able to

download 2D and 3D CAD models of the T- bolts, and can place orders for delivery using a number of different currencies. The T-bolts form part of the huge range of T-nuts and T- bolts available from WDS. Both metric and imperial sizes are available, as well as standard products and special designs such as rhomboidal, blank and stainless steel products The company’s website provides details of all products and their variants, along with 2D and 3D CAD models, technical information, educational videos and helpline numbers. www.wdsltd.co.uk

RANGE OF STANDARD AND CUSTOM WASHERS

Challenge Europe, in their new Fastenings & Fixing brochure, reveal that they not only offer a very wide range of standard ex-stock same-day despatch washers, but they also offer special washers to customer drawings. This covers industries as diverse as electronics and construction as well as machine assembly, marine application and aerospace. Their brochure lists flat form (A, B, C and D types),

mudguard (penny) washers, spring washers in rectangular and square section, internal/external serrated tooth lock washers, crinkle, cup, Belleville/disc spring, grip, fibre and Dowty/bonded seal washers. Of special interest in the electrical industry are copper grip and brass terminal cup washers. Sealing washers in a range of materials are covered under this programme, along with O rings. Challenge Europe can provide washers to metric and imperial standards in materials such as

steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, nylon, fibre, rubber and more sophisticated metals in a wide range of finishes. For a copy of their brochure, contact Challenge Europe on the details below.

Trelleborg Sealing Solution’s Turcon Roto Glyd Ring V is a premium double-acting rotary seal, which is primarily intended for double-acting pressure applications within severe working conditions that require extended rotary service. The seal allows equipment to run at the highest possible speeds in extreme pressures allowing for an extended service life. Rigorous tests have been

carried out on the product and show that it runs with low frictional torque at all pressures from 0.5MPa and above with low sensitivity to pressure increases from 0.5 to 20MPa. It achieved a PV twice as high as other bidirectional seals and demonstrated 50 per cent lower friction. Furthermore, wear of the seal and O-Ring was so small that it could not be measured. Like other O-Ring activated Slipper Seals, the initial squeeze of the O-Ring ensures sufficient contact pressure between seal and mating surface to provide tightness at low pressure. With increasing system pressure, the O-Ring transmits increasing forces through the seal body to increase the contact force on the sealing surface to ensure sealing efficiency at all pressures. The Turcon Roto Glyd Ring V has a built-in valve function. Valve ports connect both sides

of the Turcon ring profile to the space in the centre, which is the lubricating groove. An elastomer ring is installed in the lubricating groove to prevent static leakage. When Turcon Roto Glyd Ring V is pressurised from one or the other side, the elastomer ring opens the port on the pressure side and equalises the pressure beneath the elastomer ring – pressure balancing the seal by more than half. Shifting pressurisation through the ports also renews the fluid in the space between the ‘legs’, improving lubrication under the seal. The sealing solution is suitable for use within equipment when a

long service life is required within demanding service conditions. Typical examples are within rotary connections with full rotation or swivel movements, such as hydraulic swivels, lead- throughs and hydraulic rotators. With maximum recommended operating temperatures of +100°C/ +212°F (up to +150°C/+302°F at lower PV-values), Turcon Roto Glyd Ring V is designed to fit into standard Roto Glyd Ring grooves. It is available in four cross section series; for shafts in diameters from 35 to 500m/1.377 to 19.685- inches and for bores from 22 to 500m / 0.866 to 19.685-inches. www.trelleborg.com

NEW LED FLOOD CURING SYSTEM FOR UV/LIGHT CURE MATERIALS Specification can be selected for a 365nm,

The Dymax BlueWave MX-250 offers all the benefits of curing using UV LED technology, in a flood lamp configuration, which has the power and control suitable for production. There are significant potential advantages in

using LEDs to generate UV light suitable for curing adhesives and coatings in a manufacturing environment. No bulb to change, instant on/off, minimal life-time intensity deterioration, low power consumption and low footprint - factors that can deliver efficiency and reliability in modern assembly areas. As Peter Swanson, M.D. of Intertronics,

explains: “The BlueWave MX-250 has a high- intensity LED emitter, which provides better

uniformity and more consistent curing-energy emissions than traditional flood curing systems. The emitter delivers a 50mm x 50mm active curing area, but multiple systems can be grouped together to create larger curing pattern matrixes as needed.”

385nm or 405nm wavelength emitter to suit the specific material being cured. Set up and adjustment is provided by a controller, which can handle multiple emitters, with keyboard touch screen and multiple program memory for curing time and intensity cycles. The lightweight emitter can be mounted remotely for automated or semi-automated production. The BlueWave MX-250 is suitable for the fast curing of a wide range of UV adhesives, coatings, encapsulants and temporary masking products used in medical devices, optics, automotive, and other technology fields. www.intertronics.co.uk
