COMPACT POWER SUPPLY SOLUTION FOR INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION APPLICATIONS
WAGO’S new compact high-efficiency Power Supply Base Series (2587 Series) has been designed for basic industrial automation needs, including programmable logic controllers, human machine interfaces, switches and sensors, industrial communication devices, and remote monitoring systems. This features the company’s spring pressure connection technology, which
ONBOARD CHARGER AND ePTO LAUNCHED
The Editron ED3 onboard charger and electric power take-off (ePTO) from Danfoss has been standardised with communication protocols, software and documentation for off-highway applications. This enables rapid overnight and opportunity charging for heavy-duty electric machinery using readily available AC chargers. Its three-in-one functionality – AC charger, DC ePTO, and AC ePTO – reduces complexity and streamlines machine design and integration. This can deliver up to 44 kilowatts of power
to a machine’s main high-voltage battery. This power level can fully charge heavy-duty electric vehicles overnight using AC chargers. The device pulls power directly from the
main high-voltage battery to provide up to 44 kW of DC power to auxiliaries, such as high-voltage compressors, pumps and motor controllers. It can also convert power and deliver up to 43.6 kilovolt-amperes of single- or three-phase current to create an AC microgrid for plug-in functions in the field. The electrified PTO decouples auxiliary functions from the vehicle’s driveline and frees space on the vehicle chassis for batteries and other components, easing installation. Electric PTOs also minimise mechanical losses, resulting in higher efficiency. The versatility of the Editron ED3
provides OEMs with flexibility in designing vehicle system architectures. Able to be used in a variety of applications, the device enables standardisation of components across machine platforms.

provides quick, secure and maintenance-free wiring, reducing installation time and costs. In addition, a built-in DC OK indicator allows for easy monitoring of output voltage, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operation. Engineered with up to 94% efficiency, the Base Series significantly reduces energy loss
and heat generation. It can operate reliably in temperatures ranging from -30˚C to +70˚C, with the ability to start at temperatures as low as -40˚C. Robust metal housing and an MTBF in excess of one million hours ensure long-term reliability and minimal maintenance requirements. The WAGO Power Supply Base Series is available in three output current models, 5A/120W, 10A/240W, and 20A/ 480W, and its space-saving design helps optimise control cabinet layouts and simplify installation, the company explains.
WAGO AC/DC POWER
SUPPLIES DELIVER 20W OUTPUT POWER
Available from Rutronik, RECOM’s compact RAC20NE-K/277/EPID series of AC / DC power supplies have a closed IP40 encapsulation. Easy to mount in difficult supply conditions, these deliver up to 20W output power without airflow and have increased surge strength. They are fully certified according to the safety standards UL/IEC/EN62368, IEC61347, IEC61558 and EN60335 and are ideally suited to applications in the infrastructure, energy or industry 4.0 sectors. Additional applications include automation, future mobility, biotechnology, IIot & Internet of everything, medical & healthcare, etc. The power supplies are certified according
to overvoltage category OVC III and deliver a full 20 W output power without airflow up to +55˚C (85˚C with derating). With efficiencies of up to 88%, the power supply ensures cool operation and a high MTBF of over one million hours.

CHIPSET FEATURES 98% EFFICIENCY
Power Integrations has announced a two-fold increase in power output from the HiperLCS-2 chipset. Featuring advanced half- bridge switch technology and an innovative package, the new device can deliver up to 1650 W of continuous output power with over 98% efficiency. This targets industrial power supplies as well as chargers for e-scooters and outdoor power tools. The highly integrated HiperLCS-2 family reduces component
count and board area of half-bridge LLC resonant power converters by 30-60% in applications of 50W and higher. The new IC increases continuous power to more than 1.6 kW and
permits brief peak loads of 2.5 kW by leveraging a new, thermally efficient, POWeDIP package. This package includes an electrically insulating, thermally conductive, ceramic pad that can be easily attached to any flat, heat-sinking surface. It provides sufficient creepage to the package pins, enabling an overall thermal performance of less than 1˚C per watt.

PROGRAMMABILITY TO AC-DC POWER SOLUTIONS
Suitable for use across a wide range of industries, XP Power’s HDA1500 power supplies can be used in areas such as robotics, lasers, LED heating and semiconductor manufacturing. Here, they provides a versatile and efficient solution with the benefits of digital control and communication, plus a comprehensive range of status LEDs. The HDA1500 offers precise digital adjustment of both output current and output voltage from 0-105%. Rated for 1.5kW of power with no minimum load requirement, the new supplies offer efficiency up to 93%, reducing waste heat. Where more power is required in a rack, HDA1500 units can easily be operated in parallel with active current sharing. Driven by a graphical user interface (GUI),
the power supply can be adjusted via several digital protocols including PMBus, RS485 / 232, MODBUS and Ethernet, which also allow for easy integration into more advanced power control schemes. The units operate from a universal single phase mains input (90 to 264VAC) and are said to offer one of the widest single rail output selections on the market, covering all popular voltages between 12VDC and 400VDC in a suite of eleven units. Operating from -25˚C to +60˚C, the
units require no derating below 50˚C. A comprehensive range of protection features are built-in, including overtemperature, overload, overvoltage and short circuit.
