Hamworthy Heating launches next generation of Modumax boilers
H
amworthy Heating - a trusted manufacturer and supplier of heating and hot water products - has launched its new Modumax
mk4 floor standing boiler. Building on the success of its bestselling range, the latest generation features a modern, intuitive design with flexible connections and pipework kits. This makes it an efficient and flexible solution for a wide range of commercial buildings. Featuring a new asymmetrical configuration and
a clear digital touchscreen for easy navigation, Modumax mk4 boilers offer simple operation, while improved access to key components speeds up servicing and on-site installation. Models also include a Modbus communications module for seamless integration with building management systems, with a VFC remote signal kit supplied as standard to support efficient setup and optimisation. Suitable for plant rooms with limited space or
restricted access, Modumax mk4 boilers feature a compact and lightweight design to help simplify installation. Modules fit through a standard doorway and can be split for easier handling in basement or rooftop plantrooms, while a reduced flue height supports installation in height restricted areas. To save space, modules can also be stacked two or three high in up to 15 combinations, delivering up to 762
kW in less than one metre square of floor space. For added convenience, the range is available with six pipework kits, complete with pumps, and can
be paired with a selection of Hamworthy Heating low loss headers to help simplify primary circuit design. Boilers are also dual approved for use with both natural gas and LPG. Incorporating stainless steel heat exchanger technology and backed by a 10-year warranty, Modumax
mk4 floor standing boilers are available in five models with outputs from 97 to 254 kW (50/30 °C). Delivering a 5:1 turndown ratio, low Class 6 NOx emissions across all models and up to 95% gross seasonal efficiency, the range combines durability with outstanding efficiency. “We’re excited to be taking Modumax to the next level,” comments Darren Townend, Product Manager, Hamworthy. “Building on our long-standing heritage of modular boilers designed, tested and manufactured in the UK, Modumax mk4 boilers include all the features our customers know and trust, but is now even easier to install, commission and service.”

SPC launches CurveVector cassette heater, bringing 360° ceiling-mounted warmth to schools, offices and public buildings
N
ew LTHW cassette heater delivers even, whisper- quiet heating from a discreet 600mm ceiling grille, engineered to work efficiently with heat pumps and
condensing boilers alike. SPC, the Leicester-based heating solutions manufacturer,
has announced the launch of the CurveVector cassette heater, a ceiling-mounted unit designed to deliver powerful, even heat distribution while keeping floors and walls completely clear. Built around an innovative circular discharge grille, the
CurveVector directs warm air evenly across 360 degrees, eliminating the cold spots that can affect conventional wall-mounted or perimeter heating systems. The unit fits discreetly into standard 600mm x 600mm suspended ceiling grids, or can be integrated into open ceiling designs, leaving only the circular grille visible from room level. The launch comes at a time when specifiers across the education, healthcare and public sectors
are under increasing pressure to move away from fossil-fuel heating while maintaining comfort standards. The CurveVector has been engineered specifically with this transition in mind, offering full compatibility with low water temperature heat pump systems as well as condensing boilers and waste heat recovery installations. “Designers and facilities managers are increasingly being asked to decarbonise their heating without
compromising on comfort or aesthetics. CurveVector has been designed to meet both challenges at once – it performs effectively at the lower flow temperatures that heat pumps produce, and it does so from a position that is completely inobtrusive. For schools, offices and public buildings where wall and floor space is at a premium, that combination is a genuine step forward,” said Richard Meskimmon, Technical Manager for SPC.
Performance and specification The CurveVector is available with a choice of two- or three-row heating coils and delivers a heat output of 6.3–8.4kW at standard 82/71°C water temperatures, 4.2–5.9kW at 60/40°C for condensing boiler systems, and 2.9–4.1kW at 45/35°C for low-temperature heat pump installations. An energy-efficient EC fan motor keeps running costs down and noise levels as low as 29 NR, making the unit suitable for noise-sensitive spaces such as libraries, classrooms and reception areas. Installation has also been simplified. A smart suspension system with adjustable brackets allows
the unit to be fitted before or after the ceiling grid is in place, while side-mounted 22mm copper pipe connections and a rotatable grille make on-site alignment straightforward. Every unit is supplied complete with suspension brackets, air discharge adjustment strips, a white RAL 9016 grille, thermal overload protection and full installation instructions.
