Solutions’ followed the launch of the company’s new Connected Lighting Academy which has been designed to support OEM customers and help them understand more about the opportunities for connected lighting

n the second of a twopart conference, Tridonic has once again gathered together an amazing lineup of industry experts that

and integrated lighting solutions. For the second event, Tridonic approached

150 consultants, developers, OEMs, architects and contractors who listened to key speakers from a variety of ‘solution provider’ companies and partners of Tridonic presenting on a variety of topics proving that lighting really is the backbone to any smart building. The value of this truly unique event was

reflected in the status of the speakers and the input they were able to bring to the conference. Following the event, Tridonic’s UK Strategic Solution Sales Manager and host Simon Blazey commented “The conference was extremely well received by delegates and

provided everyone with a great opportunity to network”.

VentAxia Fan celebrates Golden Anniversary

entAxia is leading the way in reliability with one of its Standard Range fans still going strong after more than 50 years. Originally installed in

1967 the fan has been improving its household’s indoor air quality ever since, even moving house with its owners in 1973! It is this longevity and reliability that forms the backbone of VentAxia’s commitment to designing high quality fans that last. VentAxia fans are also easily repairable. During its

long life, this Standard Range fan has benefitted from VentAxia’s high quality spares department, requiring parts once in the 1990s and replacement housing recently. This all leads to further improved fan longevity and so reduced waste, helping lower environmental impact. “VentAxia is committed to reducing waste. We are

well established for making reliable energy efficient products that reduce energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions. But now our fans go one step further,” explains Jenny Smith, Head of Marketing at VentAxia. “By developing innovative modular products, that can be repaired rather than replaced should they develop a fault, we can make a real difference to ventilation’s environmental impact. But it’s not just newer products that are repairable. At VentAxia we’re well known for our spares department which has a wide range of products available allowing fans to be repaired whenever possible.” For further information on all products and

SMARTCONTROL – its first plastic electronic enclosure designed especially for room corners. It can be mounted on ceilings and walls using the suspension element, or on a tabletop using the desktop stand. Wedgeshaped SMART

CONTROL is perfect for a wide range of applications including security and monitoring, environmental technology, IoT/IIoT, gateways, measurement and control, sensors, control electronics, medical and laboratory technology. Ideally, the enclosure

should be mounted as close to the ceiling as possible; this high position is ideal for widearea room monitoring, saves space and protects the equipment from damage or tampering. Two versions are available, offering either

a convex front or a recessed operating area for a membrane keypad. No fixing screws are visible from the front; all the stainless steel tamperproof Torx screws are at the rear. PCB mounting pillars are moulded in both the top and bottom sections. SMARTCONTROL is available in two sizes:

S (142 x 81 x 46 mm) and M (173 x 101 x 59 mm). The enclosures are moulded from strong, UV stable ASA+PCFR (UL 94 V0).

The standard colour is offwhite (RAL 9002). Prices start at £19. Options and accessories for this new

range include IP 55 seals, a wall suspension element (for 90° inside corners or flat surfaces), an ergonomic desktop stand (viewing angle 45°), Torx T8 selftapping screws and a Torx T8 screwdriver. SMARTCONTROL is available in custom

colours. Other customising options include CNC machining, lacquering, printing or laser marking of legends and logos, decor foils, EMC shielding, installation and assembly. Visit the OKW website for more

Rinnai has developed and

manufactures the only complete and most comprehensive range of highly efficient ErP labelled A rated continuous flow water heaters on the market, from the smallest domestic model to industrial units. “Rinnai understands that time

KW’s new SMART CONTROL corner enclosures are

WHAT’S NEW SPONSORED BY Tridonic’s second Smart Building Conference a complete success

One small bracket, one “game changing” impact on project costs

A

small change on a fixing detail is promising to deliver massive site time

and cost savings for M&E projects. Gilberts (Blackpool) claims its

new bracket for grilles and diffusers saves on average 10 minutes/grille in fixing. It also eliminates the need for skilled or semiskilled labour to install the ventilators.. “Without overstating the case,

it’s a game changer for contractors,” says Gilberts’ Sales Director Ian Rogers. “Installation is a significant part of the project value, and overrun on fitting time is one of the most crucial issues affecting build programmes. On a typical large commercial project involving 2500 grilles, the time saving equates to some 400 hours! That has a massive impact on the duration on site. And the skilled labour requirement is reduced you just need someone capable of using a screwdriver.” Initially, the new bracket fits at

least 80% of Gilberts’ grille and diffuser ranges. In the medium long term, it will be the standard

fixing for almost all the grille and diffuser products. It simply clips onto the grille or diffuser, which is then pushed into position and the bracket secured by tightening with a screwdriver. The bracket is the latest

pioneering innovation from the familyowned, air movement engineering specialist. It builds on the company’s heritage of bringing to market advanced technology that enhances the design, installation, energy efficiency and occupier comfort of non domestic buildings.

at the company’s London office but will be liaising with customers on a nationwide basis. He holds a MEng, a masters’ degree in engineering. Says Rinnai

Operations head Chris Goggin, “We are delighted to have Danny join us and he will be dealing directly with installers, contractors and endusers. The provision of technical service excellence is a key factor in the market switching to the continuous flow mode of hot water delivery, as opposed to the old, conventional methods which are more costly and far less efficient.” Rinnai is the UK leader in ErP ‘A’ rated continuous flow hot water

heating units. The company makes and sells over 12 million gas appliances every year, which are distributed globally to all parts of the world and are all ISO 9001 and ISO 1400I certified (International standard for

environmental management systems). The Rinnai range of hot water heating products are manufactured to

the highest possible quality standards which ensures a long working life. Our reliability and commitment to customer service excellence is the industry standard. Backed with extensive warranties and fully qualified service teams,

Rinnai is the first choice for continuous flow hot water, providing the most energy and economically efficient solution by using individual or multiple manifolded appliances. “Rinnai employs innovative manufacturing and testing techniques to
