Enhanced circuit protection with Elucian’s new 10kA3 Pole + Switched Neutral Bi-Directional RCBO

C

lick Scolmore has announced the launch of Elucian’s new 10kA 3 Pole + Switched Neutral Bi-Directional RCBO, further expanding its

comprehensive circuit protection portfolio. Developed in response to growing market demand, the new 10kA 3 Pole + Switched Neutral Bi-Directional RCBOs are supplied with a one metre Neutral fly lead and are available in a wide range of current ratings from 6A to 63A. Products are offered in both B Curve and C Curve variants, each featuring Type A 30mA protection. This ensures suitability across a broad spectrum of commercial and industrial applications where additional protection may be required. Regulation 411.3.3 sets out the requirements for socket-outlets up to 32A to incorporate additional

protection when being used by ordinary persons. While many installations use SWA cables in this environment - which typically do not require additional protection - the regulation is clear that additional protection is required for socket-outlets up to 32A. Installers often install an RCD closer to the socket. This approach can be costly and time-consuming. The new addition provides a reliable and space-saving solution for three-phase installations allowing multiple points to be installed on one RCBO, extending Elucian’s offering beyond its established single-pole solutions.

Designed for versatile applications Designed with bi-directional functionality, the new RCBOs are suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

• •

Three-Phase Distribution Boards - Providing 4-pole protection (three phases plus neutral) for machinery, HVAC systems and commercial equipment.

• Renewable Energy & HVAC Systems - Ideal for air source and ground source heat pumps, solar PV systems and battery storage installations requiring dependable protection.

EV Charging Stations - Suitable for 32A and 40A installations requiring 30mA earth leakage protection.

Industrial Environments - Motor control centres, automation systems and robotics, where reliable protection is critical to prevent costly downtime.

• Commercial Buildings - Offices, retail units, data centres and hospitals, where continuous operation is essential.

WAVIN EXPANDS MVHR PORTFOLIO WITH LAUNCH OF FLEXPRO-90

L

eading plumbing and drainage manufacturer Wavin expands its Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery solutions with the launch of the new

Ventiza FlexPro-90, a higher-capacity semi-rigid radial duct developed to meet the increased airflow demands of modern, energy-efficient homes. The new 90mm duct builds on the Ventiza

FlexPro-75 system introduced last year, delivering up to 45% more airflow than standard 75mm options at the same velocity levels - enabling installers to achieve required ventilation rates using fewer ducts. The increased airflow capacity lowers the back

pressure and enables MVHR units to operate at lower speeds, helping to reduce energy consumption and lower system noise for homeowners. Supplied in continuous 50-metre coils, the new semi-rigid radial duct reduces the number of joints

required, supporting simpler installation and minimising air leakage risk. The duct’s double-wall construction includes an insulating air void to support improved acoustic

and thermal performance, contributing to quieter operation within the home. The material also incorporates antibacterial, antifungal, and antistatic properties to help maintain air-quality standards and reduce dust build-up inside the system over time. Features of the Ventiza FlexPro range include a smooth internal surface designed to reduce air

resistance, and a ribbed exterior providing high mechanical strength and impact resistance suitable for on-site conditions. FlexPro-90 is available now, with a full range of connectors to be introduced in May. The duct has

been designed to remain compatible with existing connectors on the market, so ongoing projects can adopt the new system without delay. Ben Perris Sales Director for Indoor Climate Solutions for Wavin said: “The launch of FlexPro-90 is a

great example of our commitment to giving installers and developers the flexibility they need to design high-performing, future-ready ventilation systems in action. Its increased airflow capacity supports the growing demands of modern, energy-efficient homes, while helping installers create simpler, more efficient systems with less noise and lower energy use.” Alongside the new Ventiza FlexPro range, Wavin’s online Ventilation System Finder supports

early-stage project design by helping built environment professionals identify the correct ducting configuration and suitable MVHR unit for their specification. Following system selection, Wavin’s technical team works directly with developers and installers

throughout design and installation, helping to ensure accurate system performance and smoother project delivery. For more information on Ventiza Flex-90 visit:

Light, height and future-proof flexibility

t 247 Wimbledon The Broadway, a new multi-level office required lighting that is elegant today and adaptable tomorrow. Zumtobel’s scheme combines TECTON track with suspended LIGHT FIELDS III and ONDARIA pendants to preserve clean ceiling lines and high visual comfort, while VIVO II

provides precise vertical illumination. LITECOM integrates daylight and presence control, enabling easy future reconfiguration and energy-efficient operation.

A brief built around tomorrow On Wimbledon’s high street, a new multi-level office needed lighting that looked refined on day one and could adapt gracefully for years to come. The client asked for high visual comfort, minimal visible containment to keep ceilings feeling taller, and an infrastructure that would let floors be subdivided later without tearing into the fabric.

Finding the look: a hands-on mock-up Before a single fitting was ordered, the team mocked up three finishes: silver, black and white against the project’s materials palette. The result was a clear winner: Zumtobel’s SR silver across luminaires, track and spotlights, giving the ceilings a calm, coherent language.

The backbone that makes change easy Around the building core, continuous TECTON track carries power and DALI control, creating a tidy service spine. VIVO II medium spotlights mounted to TECTON wash walls and routes with clean vertical illumination, sharpening wayfinding and keeping the space legible as layouts evolve.

Comfort at the desk, light in the room In the main office zones, LIGHT FIELDS III suspended deliver direct/indirect light: crisp task illumination downwards with a soft ceiling glow above. A neat, custom suspension detail lets LIGHT FIELDS III interface elegantly with the TECTON run, no clutter, no compromise. In reception and circulation areas, ONDARIA pendants add a gentle, welcoming signature. Downstairs in the basement, tunableWhite versions of LIGHT FIELDS III and VIVO II support varied tasks and time-of-day ambience.

Control that works quietly in the background A LITECOM system underpins presence and daylight strategies on every level, trimming energy without fuss and making future commissioning straightforward when spaces are partitioned. Emergency lighting is centralised via eBox remote battery systems, integrated with the TECTON backbone to simplify testing and maintenance. Martin Lee, Key Account Manager, Zumtobel Group, says, “The brief was all about flexibility without visual noise. TECTON gave us the clean infrastructure, while LIGHT FIELDS III and ONDARIA brought the comfort and character. With LITECOM handling daylight and presence, the building gets efficient operation today and simple re-commissioning when layouts change.”

The result Ceilings feel higher, routes are defined clearly, and the landlord has a genuinely adaptable platform: luminaires can be relocated with the track, not the chisel. For incoming tenants, it’s comfort and clarity; for building operations, it’s efficiency and ease. Luke Taylor, Facilities & IT Director, Wimbledon Offices Ltd comments, “From day one we wanted a scheme that looked refined, lifted the ceilings and wouldn’t box us in later. The Zumtobel solution has done exactly that. The quality of light is excellent, and the TECTON backbone means we can re-shape floors without ripping anything out—future-proofing in the best sense.” For further information on any of the products please visit: www.zumtobel.co.uk
