140 Lumen per Watt LED Panels now available from

ith energy efficiency remaining a key priority for the lighting sector, Ovia’s latest product development focusses on the company’s range of LED panels, with
the launch of new and improved versions which now feature lower wattages and produce higher lumen outputs. Ovia’s premium Inceptor Slate Backlit LED panels, as well
as the regular Slate Backlit panels are now available in 22W versions that produce an impressive 140 lumens per Watt output to maximise energy efficiency. The LED panels market has come a long way since they were
first introduced more than 10 years ago, when a 45W panel cost more than £200. In recent years LED panels have been used as the main replacement for fluorescent tubes as a means of saving on energy consumption. With the launch of the new 140 lumen panels range within its commercial lighting offer, Ovia is creating the opportunity for the replacement of existing higher wattage panels for these more energy efficient versions to create even further energy savings. Ovia’s Inceptor Slate Backlit is a premium TP(a) rated LED Panel with a low <19 UGR diffuser. The
range has been upgraded to reduce the wattage from 30W and 40W to 22W and 30W, to achieve a higher lumen output whilst consuming much less power. As well as being power switchable these new backlit panels feature selectable CCT (4000K, 5000K and 6500K) options as standard, to offer completely customisable lighting solutions. There are three sizes available:
- - -
22-30W 600mm x 600mm 22-30W 1200mm x 300mm 37-50W 1200mm x 600mm
At the same time as introducing the improved Inceptor Slate LED Panel range, the company has
upgraded its standard Slate Backlit Panels which are now available in a reduced wattage of 22W, producing a 140 lumen per Watt output. These 4000K low glare 600 x 600, 22W panels are available in a TP(a) or TP(b) option. These ratings relate to the fire-rating of thermoplastic diffuser materials. Thermoplastic materials undergo specific tests to certify their ability to withstand the application of heat and fire. The requirements are established by Building Regulations Approved Document B, which sets out the fire safety of buildings. Section B2 covers internal fire spread. The difference between TP(a) and TP(b) rated materials is in their composition and thickness or how they react under test conditions when a flame is applied to them. Both the Inceptor Slate and the standard Slate Backlit LED panels are supplied with LED driver and
pre-wired push-fit 3-Pole Ovia Flow connector, and they come with a five year warranty. More information on these products can be found on the Ovia website

ingspan Technical Insulation has launched Kingspan K-Roc Pipe Insulation, an A2L/A2-s1,d0 rated pipe insulation suitable for use on HVAC and building services pipework. The product comprises a mineral wool insulation core with a reinforced aluminium foil facing
and is available in a range of sizes for various pipe diameters. The insulation core features longitudinal fibres which provide both rigidity and thermal performance, allowing the product to achieve a thermal conductivity of 0.033 W/mK at 10 °C. The technology used to shape the pipe sections ensures the round shape of the internal diameter is
maintained and adheres closely to the pipework. The shape of the internal diameter is unaffected by loss of material at the assembly cut line — helping to maintain a continuous layer of insulation around the pipe and preventing potential thermal bridges. The product has been designed to allow easy handling and installation. It is supplied in 1.2 m lengths
— allowing large sections of pipework to be insulated in a single fix. Its reinforced aluminium foil facing and wide self-adhesive closing lap also makes the assembly process both quick and secure. In addition, the product is supported by Kingspan’s Technical Advisory service providing guidance for designers, specifiers, consulting and mechanical engineers, mechanical and electrical M&E contractors, thermal insulation contractors’ as well as building services and facilities managers.

SFL Are Enhancing Carbon Footprint Reduction and UK-to-UK Distribution with New Flexible Liner Manufacturing Capabilities
S
FL are proud to announce a significant expansion in their manufacturing capabilities with the introduction of flexible liner production at their 120,000 sq ft facility in Barnstable, Devon.
This new production line strengthens the Residential division of the business,
allowing for the manufacture of flexible liners ranging from 80mm to 250mm in diameter, with multiple performance characteristics and advantages. Jason Lee, Technical & Engineering Manager at SFL, commented on the
development: “The new flexible liner machines will enable SFL to produce 0.1mm and 0.12mm 316 stainless steel, as well as 0.1mm 904 stainless steel twin-wall flexible liners. This expansion complements our existing product range. Having the flex production line based here in the UK allows us to maintain strict quality control. Every time production begins, or when we adjust the diameter or introduce a new coil, we conduct a comprehensive series of tests in accordance with EN 1856 Part 2. These tests include leakage, torsion, tensile, and various dimensional checks, all of which are integral to our rigorous quality assurance process.”
Key Features of the New Flexible Liner Production Line: •
Production of double-wall flexible liners for chimney and ventilation systems
• Available in pre-coiled lengths ranging from 6m to 50m • • • • •
Suitable for positive pressure and condensing applications (P1 W) Manufactured from a single strip of material for optimal durability Fully computerised and programmable production process Diameters from 80mm to 250mm
Tested and CE-marked in compliance with EN 1856 Part 2 Andy Dimond, National Sales and Marketing Manager for the UK & Ireland,
remarked on the strategic investment: “Being able to offer UK-based manufacturing is essential to our continued success, and reducing our carbon footprint is a vital part of our broader quality control strategy. At SFL, we are immensely proud of our British manufacturing heritage. This investment in state-of-the-art production equipment, alongside our extensive R&D capabilities, ensures that we are continuously innovating to meet the latest UK and European standards.” In addition to the new production line, SFL boast a comprehensive R&D centre,
dedicated to continuous product development and testing to ensure compliance with the most up-to-date regulatory requirements.
