ZEHNDER EXPANDS UNITY RANGE

In response to this, leading indoor climate solutions provider, Zehnder Group UK, is expanding its innovative Unity Range with the introduction of two new smart, continuously running decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) fans onto the market: the Unity CV2.1HT and the Unity CV2.1APP

esigned to meet the evolving needs of households, these two new models offer homeowners sustainable, user-friendly ventilation solutions that are more in line with the changing habits and lifestyles in residential properties. Not only this, they also address a very real
problem in the residential, hospitality and social housing sectors - specifically the build-up of condensation that can lead to toxic and harmful black mould outbreaks that are rife in homes across the UK as well as hotels, gyms and workplaces.
Whisper quiet and with intelligent sensors that adapt to their environment, these two new fans are not only designed not to be heard but have the ability to activate a boost function during rapid rises in humidity whilst also keeping quiet during periods of low activity, for example at night. The fans also feature a memory function as standard, meaning they can retain their settings even after extended periods of inactivity, including loss of power - ideal when a building is not occupied for extended periods or during power cuts.
Zehnder Unity CV2.1HT
Ideal for both new builds and retrofits, the Unity CV2.1HT is a truly smart fan. Running at a constant ‘trickle’ rate for year-round ventilation, the Unity CV2.1HT includes an intelligent humidity sensor designed to adapt to real-time conditions to promote fresh and healthy air circulation. The fan is set to operate automatically and boosts when required, activated by either a room’s humidity level or through its smart timer, reducing unnecessary heat loss and energy wastage.
The ideal choice for bathrooms, wet rooms and en-suites, the decentralised air system can be mounted on walls, windows, or in ceilings to minimise disruption to existing structures. It offers adjustable ventilation rates with 100% variable airflow to meet on-site regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the Unity CV2.1HT has an enhanced range of accessories, including a picture frame adaptor for when replacing larger fans, a window fixing kit for secure window installations and a fire collar for added safety in the event of a fire.
It boasts compatibility with a Quick Release Kit that enables easy removal of the fan from its fittings for quick and efficient access to the fan for maintenance and cleaning, and minimising concerns around re-wiring of electrical components.
Zehnder Unity CV2.1APP
Zehnder’s second new launch in the range is the Unity CV2.1APP, designed specifically for rented or social housing. Through the use of its dedicated app, it’s possible to access stored performance data on the fan to review functionality over a period of time, indicating how long a fan has been running, if there are any faults and whether the fan has been turned off - a common contributing factor to the build-up of mould in properties. New Zehnder research reveals that despite 1 in 10 social housing properties being rife with mould throughout, 54% of tenants admit to turning off the extract fans in their bathrooms. This behaviour on a long-term basis can lead to a build-up of humidity in the property through routine daily activities like cooking, bathing and drying clothes inside and without effective ventilation can lead to the development of mould.
Yet the Unity CV2.1APP, specifically created for use in tenancy homes (privately rented or social houses), will now enhance control and allow landlords to monitor usage of the fans in their properties to get a clearer picture of why these mould outbreaks are occurring - enabling them to have an open dialogue with their tenants and provide crucial education on how to keep the property healthy. The information tracked through the extractor fan’s app can be critical to ensuring the health and wellbeing of occupants and the building itself. Boasting all the functionality of the Unity CV2.1HT, including timer, humidity boost, precise airflow and tamper-proof settings, this fan also incorporates a ‘Do Not Disturb’ setting via the app, helping to not only reduce heat loss and energy wastage, but also tackling nuisance running at night - e.g. between the hours of 10pm and 7am, when occupants are sleeping.
