WHAT’S NEW Aliaxis launches Profibus® Actuated Valves

Valve range, as part of its portfolio of solutions for the industrial and waste water treatment markets. Designed for use with the solution provider’s

SuperFlo ABS, FIP PVC, Durapipe Polypropylene and Corzan CPVC industrial pipework systems, the intelligent PROFIBUS Actuated Valves provide users with greater control and enhanced visibility of the wider system’s performance. Paired with a central programme logic

controller (PLC), PROFIBUS allows for up to 250 valves to be controlled via the leading network. This will enable users to operate a network of

emonstrating its continued commitment to product development, Aliaxis is excited to introduce the new PROFIBUS Actuated

valves remotely, either individually or in unison, to create patterns and commands for valve operation. The PROFIBUS valve can also feedback to the central PLC on various operating parameters. Supplied prewired and preprogrammed,

ready for PLC connectivity, the PROFIBUS Actuated Valves from Aliaxis provide an ‘out of the box’, plugandplay solution. In addition, customers can opt to have the PROFIBUS Network Module retrofitted onto any existing electrical valves with the support of the Aliaxis valve team, making the technology highly adaptable and costeffective.

Why Systems Accessories for Cabling are Indispensable

New ROCKWOOL® HVAC calculator

simplifies specification R

OCKWOOL has made selecting the optimum thickness of HVAC insulation quicker and easier, with the launch of ROCKEQ, a new

online calculator. Designed for mechanical engineers, consultants and insulation installers, ROCKEQ produces detailed, projectspecific calculation reports and recommendations. Available at rockwool.com/uk/resourcesand

tools/tools/rockeq, the new tool provides extensive calculation options. Users enter basic information about their site conditions and HVAC system, and ROCKEQ calculates the optimum thickness based on the HVAC product selected. The calculator can be used to specify solutions for requirements including condensation control, heat gain or loss, personnel protection, and protection against freezing. For extra ease of use, ROCKEQ has standard pipe

sizes, equipment materials and common claddings builtin, but will also let users input specific data for their project if necessary.

The ROCKEQ calculator

has been designed to work alongside the recently launched ROCKWOOL HVAC Systems Guide, bringing together all the information needed to specify effective HVAC insulation.

environment'. They prevent damage from moisture, dust or contact. But that is not enough. Accessories are often used for ease of use and to make the assembly of panels simpler and clearer. These usually originated from the user. It is important that these accessories meet the same requirements as those that apply to building the panel.

S

Accessories for VX25 and AX Various materials are available for the VX25 addon unit series to keep electrical and pneumatic components separate from each other. Think of rail systems, mounting profiles, system chassis and mounting rails. Nonelectrical parts and appliances that

do not belong directly to the electrical equipment cannot simply be placed within the housing containing the switchgear. Solenoid valves must therefore be kept separate from other electrical components by placing them in a separate compartment made with rail systems. System chassis, which are used in the

door of the VX25 to make optimal use of cabinet space, can sometimes also be used for the AX wall and floor cabinet series. The same applies to different mounting profiles.

Cable routing at moving parts The IEC standard states that: "connections to appliances mounted on doors or other moving parts are made using flexible current conductors (…), allowing regular movement of the part". Pipes must be secured to the fixed and moving part. Because cable hose holders have the

same hole pattern as the cabinet frame of the VX25, the door profile in the AX, as well as the mounting rail and system chassis, they can be mounted there easily and quickly. The plastic cable hose makes it easy to establish a reliable connection with flexible current conductors. This also fulfills the requirement that “sufficient mechanical strength must be provided, without compromising proper functioning.”

Unique Domestic AC System from Toshiba Offers Infinite Design Possibilities HAORI brings stunning aesthetics, firstclass efficiency, silent output and leading air quality to residential air conditioning systems

AORI brings stunning aesthetics, firstclass efficiency, silent output and leading air quality to residential air conditioning systems

Toshiba, a global leader in highefficiency, high

performance HVAC (heating, ventilation & air conditioning) systems for domestic and commercial buildings, has redefined residential air conditioning aesthetics. The company’s newly developed HAORI transcends traditional AC concepts to become an alluring and truly elegant part of the furnishings, proving that home comfort technology can be something far more captivating than the sometimes disruptive appearance of conventional plastic.

Regardless of the room style  modern, playful,

casual, luxury, chic or retro  there is a HAORI design to make it even more engaging. With its thin body and unique shape, this innovative AC unit features a highly attractive textile cover that is not only available in a range of standard and optional colours, but offers infinite customisation possibilities. Using the supplied fabric pattern kit, HAORI owners simply take their chosen design to a tailor or, if they can sew, make their own. The textile surface of HAORI creates the perfect marriage between other room fabrics such as sofas, carpets, curtains, armchairs and bed linen for a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. Toshiba’s patented concept makes HAORI easy to

dress; simply peel and stick the desired fabric to the curved front panel to create an AC unit that will be the talk of the neighbourhood. The beauty of HAORI is its ability to blend in and become part of the wall, or stand out and become a seductive feature. Interior designers and homeowners can let style be their guide. What’s more, if the room receives a facelift at any point, so can HAORI. Simply chose or make a new fabric to keep the overall aesthetic ontrend. In keeping with Toshiba’s global reputation for

engineering distinction, the visual appeal of HAORI is matched by its technical excellence. Bestinclass performance is underpinned by triple A efficiency

(for both heating and cooling), nearsilent operation and marketleading air quality. Taking advantage of R32 refrigerant for minimal

environmental impact, HAORI’s A+++ energy performance provides the best partload efficiencies in its segment: the system is rated to 8.6 for SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and 5.1 for SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient Of Performance). In addition, Toshiba’s innovative rotary compressor and inverter technology respect the environment through constant regulation of heating and cooling capacity. HAORI has been designed to offer nearsilent

operation. The unit’s Quiet function reduces noise from the indoor unit to a barely audible 19dB(A), ensuring a good night’s sleep. Furthermore, the outdoor unit is one of the most silent on the market at a nominal 44 dB(A). Noise levels can in fact be reduced to just 37 dB(A) using a special function activated by the app or remote control. Regarding air quality, HAORI features Toshiba’s PM2.5

UltraPure Filter, which captures up to 94% of fine particulate matter with a diameter of more than 2.5 micrometres. Studies have found close links between respiratory ailments and exposure to fine atmospheric particles, which can carry bacteria and viruses. The Toshiba Plasma Ionizer housed within HAORI catches and neutralises micron contaminated particles (virus and bacteria) to create a healthy living space.

High air quality is maintained over the long term

thanks to features such as the easyclean drain pan and Toshiba’s Magic Coil with selfcleaning function. Furthermore, Toshiba’s innovative HADA Care provides advanced cooling technology that improves air distribution inside the room and protects skin moisture levels. The louvre position generates indirect flow, circulating air at the top of the room to regulate temperature and enhance comfort levels. For more information on HAORI’s classleading
