SMART MECHANICAL FLOW CONTROL FROM KOBOLD INSTRUMENTS

O

ne of the main benefits of Kobold’s REG flow restrictors is that they

provide precise mechanical flow control and conditioning, so operate without any electrical power supply. They also maintain the constant flow rate of fluids with great accuracy (±0.2 L/min) regardless of fluctuating inlet pressure. By using an impressively simple but unique principle, combined with precision engineered components the REG delivers quality and reliability ensuring lifelong and maintenance-free use.

How it works

With the REG the constant flow is realized by means of stainless steel spring plates (the so-called control orifice) and a ring or control funnel arranged thereafter. Depending on the differential pressure, the gap between control panel and ring varies. This keeps the flow rate constant. Depending on the flow rate, one to four control panels are used in different arrangements.

INTERFACE FORCE MEASUREMENTS ARE PLEASED TO LAUNCH DDM’S INNOVATIVE RANGE

I

nterface Force Measurements are pleased to launch DDM’s innovative range of small form

pressure sensors to the U.K. Automotive Industry for the first time. Widely used by automotive manufacturers and test houses in Germany, DDM’s sensors are designed to offer accurate flow and pressure measurement in applications such as

• Fuel system pressure measurement • Coolant pressure measurement • Turbo charger pressure • Exhaust back pressure

• Brake system fluid pressure • Crankcase pressure • Tank vent pressure • Automatic transmission fluid

DDM’s sensors are designed for both on vehicle and test bench use. All sensors

feature a fully welded stainless-steel construction. Pressure ports and electrical connectors can be user specified to best fit your application. Pressure ranges start at 0.1bar, up to 2,000bar with working temperature ranges from -40c to +150C

vessel loading. Two methods of verification are acceptable: either weighing the loaded container or weighing the cargo and then adding the tare weight of the container. Sensor Technology's managing director, Tony

Ingham, comments: “Cost of implementation has been a concern, but Sensor Technology’s LoadSense technology provides a simple and cost-effective solution that meets the requirements of the legislation and provides a number of additional functions that will be of benefit to shipping operators,” Easily incorporated within the crane hook,

LoadSense allows weighing processes to be fully integrated with handling operations. All live data is captured in real time and can be transferred to a database, stored, totalised and analysed. An on-board single chip computer records, analyses and archives readings, while wireless communication capability can transfer data in real time to a host computer.

division 1 (zone 1) enclosure, it can be used in a range of applications, including mining, aggregates, oil and gas, chemicals, food and beverages, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals and water and waste water. Offering a resolution of 5 mm, an accuracy of ±20

mm and an eye-safe, Class 1 laser beam with a divergence of less than 0.35°, the LLT100 can be used in low visibility conditions. Its range spans from 0.5 to 30 m for liquids, 0.5 to 100 m for solids and 0.5 m to 200 m for positioning applications with a reflective target. A rotating bracket and a swivel flange option allows precision aiming of the beam, while a laser pointer tool is used to provide a visual reference when aligning the LLT100.

DD-SCIENTIFIC LAUNCHES NEW FLUE GAS SENSORS

D

D-Scientific, a leading manufacturer of electrochemical gas sensors is

pleased to announce the launch of a range of sensors optimised for the measurement of combustion emissions in flue gas analysers. The sensors, provided in a 5 Series

package have been optimised to deal with the challenging nature of exhaust gas. The S+5OX is a two year oxygen sensor providing high stability and robustness throughout its working life. The S+A5CO is a four electrode carbon monoxide sensor which provides virtually no cross sensitivity to hydrogen, a common cross interference gas in emissions applications. They are complemented by a seven year life, lead free oxygen sensor, available now in a 20mm package and shortly in the 5 Series package. To learn more about these sensors or many other exciting developments at DD- Scientific, please email our sales team.

applications and noxious gas monitoring to water level management for wildlife and flood alerts. Our IoT technology connects sensors to the cloud, enabling critical data and alarms to be seen and timely action to be taken. We have delivered several ‘connected sensor’ solutions for a major supplier of oil

P

industry and environmental services, aimed at protecting critical infrastructure and making businesses more resilient to unexpected events. For this Industry 4.0 project, our customer wished to improve safety and efficiency at

a multi-tank waste transfer station, which receives oils collected from garages, machine shops and fast food outlets and mixed fuel (typically when the wrong fuel has been pumped into a tank). Prior to installing our kit, the only way to know the tank levels was for an employee

to climb to the top of eight large tanks and take dip readings. Now, regular level data can be easily viewed by authorised personnel on any web-enabled device. High-level alarms are set up for individual tanks. Staff are alerted when critical levels are reached and collections arranged to minimise disruption.
