Safety experts now offer safety document ahead of official deadline

he UK’s leading health and safety expert, Arco, has announced that it is one of the first companies to offer


its customers a Declaration of Conformity document on all own brand PPE products ahead of the 2018 deadline. As it’s widely been reported, following an update to the


Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and the Council on Personal Protective Equipment last year, those manufacturing and importing PPE within the EU must legally supply a Declaration of Conformity with each product placed on the market by 21st April 2018. Under the Manufacturers’ Obligations, manufacturers


must provide the EU Declaration of Conformity with the PPE or provide a website address with the product where a downloadable online version can be found. The compulsory document confirms each product has passed all relevant safety requirements and has gone through appropriate assessments processes.

company, offers a convenient way to test torque and rotation angle on bolted joints. This system provides graphic analyses of assembly processes to ensure that bolted joint assemblies meet optimum quality standards.


The software and hardware of the INSPECTpro torque and angle instrument provide graphical process analysis in assembly operations to ensure optimal quality of bolted joint assembly.


The versatile instrument is equally suited a wide


variety of quality assurance applications including random-sample testing, testing drivers and torque wrenches, testing joint components, and determining the process capability of already assembled bolted joints in combination with handheld torque/angle sensors up to 5,000 Nm.


Typical applications include:


• Analysing torque and clamping force The key parameter in the assembly process for bolted joints is the clamping force, which is the force generated by the bolts to hold the assembled parts together.


• Random-sample testing in bolted joint assembly processes For these tests a torque/angle sensor is fitted between the male square drive and the socket. This enables measurement of the achieved torque and/or angle as well as graphic analysis of the torque versus angle curve of the entire bolting process

ew point temperature is a key indicator of high water vapour in compressed air systems. If the dew point temperature is the same as the temperature of


the compressed air, water vapour will condense and there will be unwanted water in the compressed air lines. This causes erosion, corrosion, freezing and can adversely affect product quality during production processes.


A batch of product may even be rejected due to contamination resulting


in increased costs. As the pressure increases the dew point temperature rises and approaches saturation. It is important to measure dew point precisely and reliably.


ROTRONIC has developed a low dew point stainless steel probe with screw-in


connector for measurement down to -60 °Cdp in industrial processes at up to 100 bar; it is very suitable for compressed air systems and dryers.


The probe provides stable measurements and is fully compatible with Rotronic

• Determining the process capability in bolted joint assembly To monitor a bolted joint assembly as part of random- sample testing, finished joints are tested for correct bolt assembly using a handheld torque/angle sensor.
