TL, the national training provider for electrical and heating and plumbing apprenticeships, has implemented a number of measures to
ensure the health and wellbeing of its staff and learners as they start returning back to its centres and offices following Covid-19 restrictions. In line with the Government’s directive, JTL has
temporarily ceased all face-to-face training at its centres. Learners currently have access to a remote learning plan to ensure they can continue and progress safely during this challenging period. JTL has undertaken extensive planning, including detailed risk assessments, to introduce new safety measures ahead of staff and learners returning back for face-to-face learning. All staff and learners will receive a centre-specific induction from their dedicated Covid Officer or line manager on their return to a building. JTL has implemented a number of
measures to support good hygiene practice and social distancing. This comprises of comprehensive advisory signage, an increase in intensive
cleaning and hand sanitising stations throughout each building. Learners will notice some obvious changes including reduced group sizes and workshop bays being limited to one person only, as well as learners being asked to clean down any tools used at the end of every practical session. Covid-19 has further emphasised the pivotal role electricians and plumbing and heating engineers play, so to ensure the pipeline of skilled tradespeople continues, we have a robust business continuity plan in place. This has enabled us to introduce remote learning, which has allowed many of our learners to continue with their courses under the expert guidance and support of the JTL team during this extraordinary and challenging time. “In accordance with the Government’s
directive, we have been working hard to prepare our centres and offices for a safe re-opening. With wellbeing as our number one priority, we've brought in additional health and safety measures to protect and reassure our staff, learners and visitors. As we continue to adapt during these challenging times, we know that with everyone’s efforts we can make our learning activities as safe as possible. When it is time for learners and staff to return to our buildings, we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back”.
