Casey Porter Editor, Electrical Engineering Magazine
W
elcome to the October issue of Electrical Engineering Magazine! Autumn is well and truly here, and with it comes the countdown to LiGHT 26! I’m looking forward to seeing what the lighting industry has been working on and catching up on the latest
developments. With energy efficiency, connectivity and intelligent lighting continuing to shape the sector, there’s plenty to get excited about. We’re also delighted to be media partners for the show, and I’m particularly interested to see which innovations are already making their way into real-world applications. Last month, the EE team swapped our desks for the rather lovely surroundings of the Grand Connaught
Rooms in Covent Garden for the Instrumentation and Electronics Awards. It was a brilliant evening celebrating the people and businesses doing exciting things across the industry, and just as lovely to catch up with familiar faces, meet new people and spend some time with our contributors outside of the usual emails and deadlines. It’s always a reminder of how many great people make this industry what it is! As the evenings get darker and the weather gets colder, there’s no better excuse
to get cosy with a good read. We’ve got plenty to explore in this month’s issue, so grab yourself a blanket, settle in and enjoy the October issue!
