ENGINEERING DESIGN SHOW The recent Engineering Design Show provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with
the industry, meet with clients and prospects and showcase the innovative solutions that Essentra provides. The event created what felt like a real collaborative environment built on best practice, interest and innovation
mportantly it provided our team with valuable insight around trends, challenges and also highlighted the continuous evolution within design and engineering from a diverse range of sectors.
I Essentra
Our stand was busy throughout the event, where we exhibited a range of protective caps and plugs, fasteners & fixings as well as showcasing our Access Hardware, Wixroyd and Automotion Components product ranges. These included Standard Parts and Workholding Linear and Rotary components, as well as precision Fasteners. The show further provided us the opportunity to introduce our PCR material solutions to the design
audience and our latest PEEK fastener range. More than that, it allowed the Essentra team to learn firsthand about the ongoing challenges that many engineers and designers face, as well as highlighting our range of solutions that we provide - alongside their use cases. Feedback from attendees was great – with our PEEK offerings of particular interest. For Essentra, the ability to have constructive conversations with stakeholders across a host of industries, including electronics, medical and specialist vehicles, is what makes these events invaluable. Throughout the event our team was not only able to answer technical queries and provide information but, more importantly, to listen to the experiences and perspectives of engineers and designers. Gaining valuable insight into the
broader industry context and understanding where clients need additional support was particularly important and will help inform our business strategy and approach.
PEEK
PEEK fasteners are typically used for applications that require higher performance plastics, thermal and electrical resistance and low outgassing for harsh environments, such as components in fuel systems or in an ultra-high vacuum, reducing the risk of containment and thermal instability. Essentra’s PEEK range, available from its Wixroyd sub-brand, has been specifically designed to offer a more lightweight and versatile alternative to the more traditional metal fasteners. PEEK is able to securely bridge the gap between nylon and metal fasteners. This range is being manufactured in-house by Essentra, providing improved lead times and enabling internal expertise to be bought to this range. It was great to get feedback from our customers and the wider design and engineering community.
PCR
The PCR solutions are 100% post-consumer recycled, to provide a more sustainable solution, with no compromise on application suitability. Parallel protection plugs, snap fit plugs, face protectors and a variety of multi-purpose tube inserts are all available.
Show feedback Commenting on the show, Mike White, Field Sales Engineer at Wixroyd, said: “The Engineering Design Show is one we always look forward to. It provides us the opportunity to connect with the industry, to meet with engineers and designers to hear about their challenges, as well as the opportunities they are seeing from different sectors.
“Industry change and innovation is happening at such a rapid pace that it is important to engage and to showcase our solutions. We had some fantastic conversations and lots of interest in our latest products and solutions. “By actively seeking feedback and
demonstrating our products, solutions, experience and expertise we aim to continue providing relevant, reliable solutions that help address today’s engineering challenges.”
