Zumtobel Group T

he Royal Borough of Greenwich has committed to the arts with a multi-million-pound investment to transform five historic military buildings into a

new cultural destination in London – Woolwich Works. Zumtobel, and its sister brand Thorn, both lighting brands of the Zumtobel Group, have provided a complete lighting solution. Tony Smith, Key Account Manager at Zumtobel Group, comments, “Buro Happold, chose us to be their lighting partner on the project as they wanted someone with a broad product range and a company they knew they could work closely with to meet the challenge. It was a complex job due to the complexity of the building. We had a close working relationship with MJL, which helped us overcome each challenge. Our broad product range helped us find the right fittings for each location and provide the correct controls strategy and central battery for the project.”

Upgraded 6 Amp Relay satisfies need for high power in miniature format

H

ongfa’ s HF18FH, part of Hongfa Plug in relay

range, is a 6 Amp 4 Pole miniature high power relay operating from an AC or DC supplies. Hongfa have improved the HF18FH from the industry standard 5 Amp 250VAC/30VDC to an improved 6 Amp 250VAC/30VDC. This relay enables manufacturers and end users to use a small, high-power relay where a greater switching current is needed or preferred. Alongside the improved

6 Amp rated contacts, the relay boasts built in LED, Lockable Test Button and Mechanical Flag Indicator.

Hongfa have also taken the opportunity to change the colour of the relay case, from a translucent smoked

brown colour to a more aesthetically pleasing clear transparent case. This enables the operator to clearly see the Relays switching contact and the internal LED and Mechanical flag indicator. The forementioned LED has also been improved, Hongfa have moved away from a polarity sensitive LED to an LED which will operate on both the positive and negative terminals. Previously the relay needed to be wired with the correct terminal arrangement for the LED to operate. With the new relay either terminal can be used allowing greater flexibility to the installer. The LED along with the Mechanical test button is colour coded, Red LED with Orange Test Button for AC Coils and a Green LED with Blue Test Button for DC Coils. Aimed at OEMs, CEMs, panel builders and equipment manufacturers, the HF18HF is suitable for a diverse range of applications such as control panels, pumping applications, lift manufacturers, stair lifts and vending machines. The relay measures just 37.0 x 21.5 x 28mm, and three versions of the relay are available: a 7A 2 Pole DPDT,

a 7A 3 Pole 3PDT, and a 6A 4 Pole 4PDT with full terminal compatibility with industry standard sockets. Switchtec

C.K Tools lights the way with new head torch

C

.K Tools, the trusted choice for trade professionals, has launched a brand-new Wide Field Head Light (T9630) to ensure greater visibility and safety when

accessing wires or cables in dark and confined spaces. The COB LED head light comes with an RRP of £39.00 and four modes of operation – spotlight, wide field, full beam, and dipped beam – providing the versatility needed to suit all manner of environments electricians find themselves in. More importantly, the head light performs at a high CRI (Colour Rendering Index) rating of 80, which when optimised with a combination of 400 lumens of brightness (equivalent to a 40w LED bulb) and 5,700 kelvins of colour temperature (similar to natural light) means it can more closely project the true colour of the object it is shining on – critical when working with coloured electrical wires in dark spaces.
