Supertouch partners with Diadora Utility

The Diadora Utility range currently includes water-resistant, lightweight, highly breathable and fully eco safety shoes that are suitable for both male and female workers, across the UK’s core industrial sectors.
Incorporating a variety of technologies, such as Vibram Litebase, BSAF D-Light midsole cushioning and K-Sole penetration resistance, the range has been designed and manufactured to optimise comfort, mobility and protection. Khurram Akhtar, director of products at Supertouch, said: “In potentially hazardous operating environments, effective foot protection is crucial to mitigating risks and safeguarding employees.

Sulzer empowers the next generation of engineers

apprenticeships, educational opportunities and collaborations with universities. Oliver Keller, head of HR services EMEA at Sulzer, said: “For nearly 190 years we have worked to nurture the next generation of engineers – we want to empower aspiring technical experts to reach their full potential.”
Sulzer offers a variety of fully funded apprenticeships with college-based and practical learning at service centers in Sulzer’s global network. As well as receiving increasing pay throughout, young people are mentored by Sulzer experts, with the opportunity to be sponsored and achieve higher qualifications.

V Cables 4U, a new source for residential and commercial EV chargers, cables and accessories has launched, offering electrical installers and EV owners a single trusted supplier for everything they need to charge an electric vehicle from the wall to the car.
A spokesperson for EV Cables 4U said: “More and more of us are enjoying the experience of sitting behind the wheel of an electric vehicle. Getting set up to charge it can be daunting especially for the first-time owner with all the different cable and charging options available.

apprentice is Greig Johnston, who works to build efficient industrial pumps for the UK’s energy supply. Applying as a Fitter/Turner in July 2018, Mr Johnston has collaborated with engineers nationwide, experiencing multiple technical departments including the machine and fitting shops, as well as testing seawater injection pumps and fixing compressors. With sponsorship from Sulzer, he has achieved a Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND), the latter with an A grade. After completing his apprenticeship in July 2022, he started an engineering degree at Robert Gordon University. His hard work was even recognised at The Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) Awards 2022, where he was presented with the Rising Star Award. Mr Keller said: “Sulzer is working directly with universities and colleges to provide students with real-world engineering experience, enabling them to add value to projects and operations.”

considerations for installation at their home or commercial premises, as well as the correct cable to use.”
The EV Cables 4U range offers tethered and untethered chargers, with full programmability to control the level and timing of the charge. Owners can program their unit from the touch controls and screen on the front, or remotely via an app on their mobile phone.
Its range includes both type 1 and type 2 cables in 5m and 10m lengths in a variety of colours.
