Patience and humility are vital career traits. You now have a well-earned degree but it’s important to realise the world owes you nothing. We are all too easily drawn into a world of instant gratification but finding the right job can take time. Remember your career is a journey, not a destination.

If you doubt yourself or what you are capable of this will affect your job applications and work performance. Beliefs such as ‘I’m not confident enough,’ ‘I’m too young,’ ‘nobody like me gets a job like that,’ ‘my race or religion will hinder me, so there’s no point,’ or ‘nobody enjoys their job’ should be recognised and challenged so you can push yourself to be the person you are meant to be.
