Women will put in the extra miles as they go for glory
T e full league fi xture list for Bedford Blues Women in NC1 East has been revealed as the team prepare for a second campaign at this level. Following a league restructure, Blues Women have seen multiple
changes to the division this summer with more travelling miles in 25/26 compared to the last 12 months. T ey will compete in an expanded eight-team league alongside
Colchester Iceni, Harpenden Women, Ipswich Women, Stamford Women, Welwyn Ladies, West Norfolk Warriors Ladies and Wymondham Wasps Women. After a competitive season in the league last term, Eddie Rennell’s
team will look to develop even further with a mix of familiar faces and new opposition to test themselves. All women’s home fi xtures will again take place at Goldington
Road, home of Bedford’s premier sporting club. All Season Ticket holders for Bedford Blues are entitled to free entry at all women’s matches. Both fi xtures scheduled to take place in 2025, against Stamford
(October 19) and Hitchin (November 23) are already on sale, with a 50% saving when purchased in advance online via the Bedford Blues website.
In addition to the league fi xture list, additional cup fi xtures are
scheduled to be announced in the near future. Pre-season friendly details will be released on social media. T ere are also a number of updates regarding the team ahead of
the new season including the announcement that former Blue Tim Clarke has taken on the role of Head of Women’s Rugby, replacing Abi Simpson, who will concentrate on her role as Head of Girls Rugby at Junior Blues. As well as knowing the club as a former player and supporter, Tim
has direct experience of similar roles throughout his involvement with Bedford Queens Rugby Club and Bedfordshire County. Eddie Rennell will continue to lead the coaching team as Head
Coach, ably supported by a keen group of coaches, and looking to recruit a new Backs Coach. On the pitch, the team have a new captain as 23/24 Players’
Player of the Year, Kelly Hodgson steps up to skipper the side, ably supported by Emma Hunter as vice-captain. For businesses that would like to support this growing fl edgling
