Harry’s Rainbow

Plenty of good reasons for runners to take to the road

Milton Keynes charity Harry’s Rainbow will be inviting runners to sign up for the Festival of Running next March and help it hit its target of putting together a team of 150 people in honour of 15 years of the children’s bereavement charity. Anyone registering with Harry’s Rainbow will get 15% off the entry

fee for the event, which will be held on March 15. T anks to sponsors Taylor Wimpey, all Harry’s Rainbow runners will receive a free event T-shirt, and before and after the event, the charity will be inviting all runners at the Midsummer Tap, where a buff et will be provided. In addition, because the Festival of Running coincides with

Mothering Sunday, there will be a glass of prosecco for all mothers taking part. The Festival of Running includes the Milton Keynes Half

Marathon as well as a 5K, 10K and 20-mile run, starting at Xscape in Milton Keynes before heading out into beautiful scenic routes over mostly fl at courses. Alison Johnson, Fundraising and Events Manager at Harry’s

Rainbow, said: “We are delighted to be one of the charity partners at the Festival of Running again this year and we’d love to see as many people as possible sign up to take part on behalf of Harry’s Rainbow and be a part of our 15th anniversary celebrations in 2026. “Harry’s Rainbow originally started off with running events, so we

are hoping some of those who joined us right back in the fi rst days of the charity will come along and join in to help us celebrate, as well as plenty of regular supporters and hopefully some new faces. “We have been generously sponsored by Taylor Wimpey, and

also supported by The Good Gym and Everyday Performance T erapy. We’ve set a realistic fundraising or donation target of £30 for anyone who wants to take part, but in addition to that, anyone

raising more than £100 will start to unlock a range of benefi ts that have kindly been off ered by T e Good Gym MK and Everyday Performance T erapy, including free membership to the gym and free sports massages.” To help runners get into shape for the run, T e Good Gym MK

is also inviting people along to a running club on Sundays from September 28, free for anyone that wants to join in, starting at the gym, in Kiln Farm, at 11.15am each week.” Harry’s Rainbow, in partnership with T e Good Gym MK will be

hosting a launch event on Monday September 22 at 7pm for anyone who would like more information. Harry’s Rainbow works with children who have lost a parent or

sibling and organises groups and activities to help relieve isolation and loneliness and off er guidance and support. T e charity has helped more than 1,000 children over the past 15 years and demand for its services is constantly growing. Alison added: “T anks to Taylor Wimpey we are able to off er our

runners a T-shirt, plus the benefi ts from Good Gym and Everyday Performance T erapy and we look forward to seeing them all the Midsummer Tap to relax and enjoy our buff et once the run is over. With all that, and the 15% discount for registering through the charity, we hope lots of runners will opt to support Harry’s Rainbow again this year.”
