States Trade Representative American University’s Washington College of Law (AUWCL) hosted the 2023 Wenger Lecture Series on international trade, titled “Writing a New Story on Trade for Fair and Sustainable Growth,” featuring US Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai as the keynote speaker. The event on April 5 was moderated by AUWCL Professor Padideh Ala’i with an introduction from Dean Roger A. Fairfax Jr.

Natasha Dartigue In October, Maryland State Public Defender Natasha Dartigue visited AUWCL. Dartigue took a tour of campus, had meetings with faculty, and enjoyed lunch with Dean Roger A. Fairfax Jr. and criminal law faculty and staff.

Rights Kristen Clarke In February, as part of its continued celebration of Black History Month, AUWCL hosted a fireside chat with Kristen Clarke, assistant attorney general for civil rights at the US Department of Justice. Nearly 100 students, faculty, staff, and guests turned out for the occasion, which was moderated by Dean Roger A. Fairfax Jr.
