Verknipt has emerged as a pivotal chapter in the career of rising artist Novah. The festival has not only provided her with a platform to showcase her talents but has also resonated deeply within her as a member of the under- ground scene. In this interview, Novah reflects on her experiences at Verknipt, sharing her thoughts on the festival’s unique atmosphere, her performances, and how it has shaped her as an artist.
THE BEGINNING OF A JOURNEY
Novah first discovered Verknipt during ADE 2022, attending as a visitor rather than a per- former. This initial visit ignited a connection that would grow stronger over time.
“I felt a strong connection to the concept of Verknipt and the people there,” she recalls.
Her experience deepened when she returned the following year with friends, embracing the festival as a raver.
“I quickly realized that Verknipt is a unique community, and the idea behind it is really special.”
This sense of belonging made it clear that Verknipt would play an essential role in her artistic journey. As Novah prepared for her first performance at Verknipt during ADE 2023, she felt the weight of anticipation and anxiety.
“I was really anxious because as a new artist, playing at Verknipt was a big step, especially during ADE,” she admits.
Her concerns revolved around whether the audience would engage with her set. However, as she took the stage and the crowd grew, those nerves transformed into exhilaration.
“After 10 minutes, the stage was full. Verknipt ravers are truly the best supporters.”
During her set, Novah experienced a moment of clarity that reinforced her love for music.
“The Verknipt crowd is truly one of the most energetic audiences you’ll ever experience. The energy they bring from start to finish is unbelievable,” she reflects.
It was this vibrant atmosphere that reminded her why she pursued a career in music. For Novah, the audience at Verknipt is unlike any other, adding an extra layer of excitement to her performance.
CREATIVE FREEDOM AT VERKNIPT
Novah’s performances are renowned for their intensity and precision, and she relishes the creative freedom Verknipt offers.
“With Verknipt, you can truly go all the way. There are no boundaries in style or BPM,” she explains.
This sense of artistic liberty allows her to fully express herself, contributing to the festival’s family-like vibe.
“It’s the freedom they give you as an artist, supporting your sound, that makes Verknipt feel like a family.”
Verknipt is known for pushing boundaries both musically and culturally, and this ethos resonates with Novah.
“Verknipt books you as an artist based on the sound you bring to your sets and productions. This is very important to me as an artist, and it allows me to truly be myself at Verknipt.”
The festival challenges her to evolve and re- think her musical approach, prompting her to consider how she can grow and innovate in her future productions.
One particularly memorable moment for No- vah occurred during her set in Croatia.
“I was playing at one of the clubs, and I was amazed by how I could even recognize the energy of the Verknipt ravers in the crowd. It was such a powerful set,” she recalls.
