Children and staff from Chipping Children’s Community Alliance have been busy raising money to buy the new oven needed for their breakfast and after school clubs and the baking activities of the pre-school. Money was raised by selling the cakes baked by staff and children.
Pictured are some of the children and staff from the after school club, who took part in a Chipping School Bake Off competition, putting the new oven to good use. All the cakes andbiscuits made were judged by the teachers before the winners were an nounced.
Two services for airmen who died
Two dedication services for airmen who died in the Ribble Valley during the SecondWorldWar will take place on Saturday. The first is at 10-30 a.m. at the Nick ’o Pendle and the second at Salter FellLane, Slaidburn, at 12-50 p.m.

raised through a concert with One Voice Choir and a cake sale. A cheque was presented
to NicolaTerry, the charity’s creative partnerships man ager, who said: “1 enjoyed meeting the children and
explaining how the cha.ri- ty’sheadquartersjustup the road from the school, used to be an orphanage. “They understood how
times have changed and that we now support children in all sorts of ways, including our work with boys and girls who live with foster carers and families where children are young carers and provide care for their own parents.” The children will visit
the charity’s headquarters in Whalley Road,- Wilpshire to learn more about the his tory of the orphanage.
