three games in a mini league. TheAteammadeittothefinal of their group and managed to win the tournament overall. The B team came third in
their league - a great effort as the team was made lip of Un der 12 arid 13s players - while the C team, made up entirely of Under 12s, also enjoyed a great tournament and learnt alotfi-omthetrip.’ The Under 16s finished

- The annual Pendle Fell Race was held last week end from the picturesque village of Barley. The five- mile race was blessed with gorgeous, sunny, windless conditions.' This tough cat egory A fell race, which at tracted 340 runners, goes to the summit of Pendle and back. It was won by Pudsey and Bramley’s Rob Hope in a time of32:i3. The women’s race was won by Victoria Wilkinson, who is based at Denise Park’s Physiotherapy Practice in Clitheroe. The sports mas seur ran a fine race to beat Wakefield’s Annabel Ma son into 2nd byjust under a minute. Victoria, who last won this race in 2008,'finished 14th overall this time in a high standard race, with Ian Holmes second, eight sec onds behind the winner, and Pudsey and Brandey’s Darren Kay only 15 seconds behind Ian.

Mellorhrook’s John Holden andpassengerAndy Winkle retained their leadership of the British Formula 2 Sidecar Championship after round two at Brands Hatch. At the 1.2 mile Indy circuit
in Kent. Holden and his Stoke on Trent passenger Winkle earned one win from two races - taking Holden level on wins with Ian Bell in the For mula 2 championship all time records with 32 wins each. With a grid of 20 sidecars,
the team qualified on pole po sition, averagingaspeed of82 mph for the Saturday after noon race. With less than 1.3 sec
onds separating the top sev en teams, it promised to be an exciting race. As the day went on, the -
heavens opened and torren tial rain fell making the track a river in some parts. John and Andy got off to a

superb start and took the lead fixim thestart. The 12-lap race took place with virtually no visability for the teams fol
lowing the leaders, due to the vast amount of spray. With some exceptional
driving and passengering from the team, they finished first, 3.7 seconds in front of his nearest championship rivals, defending champions

his outfit was also clipped at the rear on the first bend by another machine. John and Andy still lead the cham pionship by 26 points. The next roundis at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire over the May, day bank holiday.
