Plain speaking wins Felicity top law prize


FO RM E R Stonyhurst student Felicity Thompson has won a top prize for trainee lawyers in London.

ed by the City o f Westminster and Holborn Law Society to the law student who can best explain a complicated subject in plain Eng­ lish to a layperson. The challenge was to explain a mortgage to

A PUBLIC meeting on dementia care services will be held in Clithe­ roe next week. As part o f NHS Lancashire’s


ongoing public consultation on specialist dementia services, an open public event will take place at The Grand, York Street, Clit­ heroe, on Tuesday, January 15th, from 1 to 3 p.m. Through the 12-week consulta­


tion process, which will run until February 25th, NHS Lancashire and Lancashire Care NHS Foun­ dation Trust are aiming to read­ dress the balance of existing serv­ ices to deliver enhanced care and


better access for the local commu­ nity. The consultation document


provides an overview of the two options, addressing the communi­ ty and in patient services for each, as well as the possible advantages and issues involved. The two options - the first o f


which proposes a single site in Blackpool (The Harbour) with extensive community services and the second which suggests two sites in Blackpool and Blackburn (Royal Blackburn Hospital) re­ spectively, with reduced communi­ ty services — are fully explained in
