A TREASURE trail with a 21st cen­ tury sound twist was unveiled at Clit­ heroe Castle by national artists Steve Manthorp and Shanaz Gulzar. Working with the staff at the North


West Sound Archive and local writing groups, the pair have developed the treas­ ure trail, which is made up from QR tags that when scanned by your mobile phone play clips of local writers and poets recit­ ing a piece written especially for the spot that you are standing.

host a craft open day featuring the work of craftspeople from across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. Any type of craftwork


will be con s id e r ed for the exhibition, including woven, stitched, felted and constructed textiles, ceramics,


jew e l le r y , m e ta lw o rk , woodwork, furniture, glass and mixed media. Work can be two or three-


dimensional, but must be well crafted and of an original, contemporary design, and up to three pieces will be considered. Applicants are asked to


submit up to six images of their prospective pieces and a £10 entry fee by Tuesday, May 31st. Chris Hughes, Ribble
