In the cunent climate, Nigel and Michelle recognised immediately that it vAxxild lake more than good food to turn the pub into a thriving, ongoing concern and so have also encouraged more sports teams to make the pub their base. 'Hicy now haw two ladies dans teams and successful pool sides, including both gents and mixed teams, who compete in both the Craven and Ribblc Valley leagues.
Nigel continued: ‘'n ie teams help fostcra sense of pride of the pub and the team elTort makes fora better atmosphere, almost like a little ‘*pub community”. We’s-e also introduced regular liv’c music sessions and a comedy club on the fust Friday of c\ery month. Comedians from the Edinburgh Tattoo linc-up are using selected pubs as warm up venues and we're delighit^ to ha\c been chosen, as it means we get some really big names petfomting here. \Vc only charge £5 entry’ as we want these cxents to be as accessible as possible.”
