NOTICE IS H ER EBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulata'on Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which wili be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicte cycle and Pedestrian from proceeding over that length of Chaffers Level Crossing on Barkerhouse Road, Nelson, for a distance of 30 metres, in the Borough of Pendle.


An alternative route for vehicular traffic, cyclists and pedestrian affected by the closure is via: -


Railway Street-A682 Burnley Road - A682 Colne Road - Windermere Avenue - Barden Lane - Greenfield Lane - A6068 Banowfield Road - B6248 Cuckstool Lane - • Clitheroe Road - Railway StreeL and vice versa


Access to properties will be maintained at all times. The Police, Rre and Ambulance Services have been informed. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow rail track maintenance at level crossing to be carried out.


The prohibition will be operative from 2300 hours on Saturday 23rd January 2010 until 1600 hours on Sunday 24th January 2010, or until compleb'on of the works within this period.
