seeking church thief
POLICE in the Ribble Valley have released this CCTV image of a man th ey wish to speak to after a church’s collection money was stolen. Around 4-10 p.m. on
July 28th, a man went. into St Bartholomews Vicarage, Garstang Rd, Chipping, Preston and, stole £15 from a collec tion box. Inquiries are ongoing
and police have now. released a picture of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the theft. Anyone who recognises!

Castle returning
to Medieval era TIME travelling Clitheroe C^tle will return to the Medieval era on Saturday.
‘' From 10 a.m. the Castle grounds will be home to a medieval-themed market with stalls selling local produce.: — ^
■ Lancashire Museums Service-will be providing children's activities and there will be re-enactments, real ales, knights in armour and face painting, as well as arts and crafts. '
Jointly organised by the museums
service, Ribble Valley Borough Council and Gold and Brown, the company
; which runs the Castle's Caffetessen, the event is due to run imtil 5 p.m. ; Proceeds will go to the Friends of
Clitheroe Castle or the future develop ment of the site as a leading tourist attraction. In addition, Clitheroe’s Chamber of
Trade and Commerce have organised a Spot Itl competition to support the Medieval Market. More than 40 high street shops, cafes, retailers and traders are taking part. The competition will run until Saturday, September 5th. Competition sheets can be picked up from the Clitheroe Chamber of Com merce Stall at the Medieval Market in the Castle or from inside the various shops taking part in the town centre. The treasure trail route of shopping
fun and games runs throughout the whole town centre and the Spot It! shops taking part can be found on King Street, Wellgate, Swan Courtyard, Market Place, Castle Street and Moor Lane.
