95-ft high building on former ICI site given green light

A PLAN for a large replacement build ing which would give the former ICI plant on Pimlico Industrial Estate, Clitheroe, a world-leading position in a specialist field has been given the go ahead. New owners Johnson Matthey wanted to
create a hi-tech catalyst plant 40 yards square and up to 95 feet high in places - three times the height of the building to be replaced. Members of Ribble Valley Borough Coun

Retired farmer with financial worries shot himself in head
A RETIRED Ribble Valley farmer blasted himself in the head with his shotgun because
the inquest that, shortly before his death, Mr Shepherd had changed his will to benefit his sons rather than his wife. Edwin said: “He didn’t want what money he had to go into care home fees.” He told the inquest that he visited his father on June 28th and could see him sleep
