ONE man and his dog were joined by a group of other men, women and children in a 10-mile trek around Chatburn to raise funds for the Royal British Legion's annual
Poppy Appeal. Their efforts over a route via Worston, Pendleton and Edisford netted £700. All the walkers wore sup
porters of the legion's Chatburn and District branch, which has staged the summer jaunt for the past 20 years. This year's walk co-ordinator was Mr Neville Croasdale, who is also the branch's 1999 Poppy Appeal organiser. In
