East Lancashire Newspapers are now looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join the dynamic team in Burnley.
He/she will report to the Managing Director, and will have a functional responsibility to the Group Financial Controller based in Leeds. The Finance Manager will be responsible for three experienced members of staff and should therefore have good man-management skills.
The main purpose of the role is to provide accurate and timely management accounts for the centre's activities and to be an active member of the local management team.
• Forecasts for 1999 and capex and operating budget for Year 2000. Specific responsibilities in the short term will include:
• Improving the quality of financial management information for local management. • Evaluation of new initiatives and products.
Other responsibilities will include: • Taking an active role in the management of the centre.
® Contributing to the further development of MIS activity to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.
• Co-ordinating the preparation of all management information in accordance vvith
group reporting formats and deadlines ensuring accuracy and quality of presentation • In injunction with the Group Financial Controller, critically review reports for each activity highlighting exceptions to local management with recommendations for actions to improve performance.
