Robben Ford. Municipal Hall, Colne. July 23rd.

ROBBEN FORD is without

doubt the only musician who can lay claim to performing or record ing credits with Miles Davis, Kiss, Burt Bacharach and Muddy Waters - not to mention George Harrison, Michael McDonald, Joni Mitchell and countless oth

ers. Raised in the remote town of

Ukiah, California, Robben moved to San Fransisco at the age of 18 and was immediately scooped up (along with older brother, Patrick, on drums) by blues harp legend Charlie Musselwhite. He eventually loft to form the

Charles Ford Band - named after their father - with Patrick and younger brother, Mark, on the harmonica. Despite the band being short

lived and having only recorded one album, it left a legion of fans, many of them guitarists, who oven now, 25 years later, owe a huge

debt to Robben. • The guitarist extraordinaire is

also an ex-membsr of the "Yellow

Jackets". For more information and tick
