COMPETITORS cannot copy the out­ standing achievements of a Burnley com­


pany. Copifax Ltd. is one of the town’s success stories of the 1990s, and the firm’s business boom is on


course for even more exciting expansion. Next Tuesday sees the official opening of the company’s


latest complex as part of its planned growth, doubling the size of its premises on the Burnham Gate trading estate to 10,000 square feet. The performance becomes even more impressive when one realises Copifax has had to quadruple its floorspace in just five years to keep up with customer demand. During the same period the workforce has grown from


five to 24, with active recruitment taking place now for a further four members of staff to join the winning team. The company was founded in 1980 but took its present

format—headed by Managing Director Keith Collinge, Service Director Mike Duckworth and Sales Director Kevin Moore — in 1990 and has not looked back. Although the firm is expanding rapidly, a highly profes­


sional service — but with that special personal touch — will remain a cornerstone of company policy. "Many of our customers have remained loyal to us since


our early days and we can assure them and our new clients that the standard of service will be maintained or improved through our expansion,” says Mr Collinge. Although things might not look to have changed much


from the outside, the interior of the firm’s premises con­ tains equipment which is at the cutting edge of the copy­ ing business. Along with an improved reception area, one of the most


visible signs of improvement for customers will be the enlarged showroom where some of the modem miracles of the photocopying world will be on display. The company has a comprehensive range of new Ricoh machines and also offers an extensive choice of fully refurbished photocopiers. Ricoh might not be as familiar a name as others in the field, but it is in fact the world’s largest manufacturer of photocopiers. “They produce the most durable machines in the mar­

er, that is where the similarity ends. At the heart of a Risograph is a high resolution digital imaging system. If the technology is mindboggling, so are the advantages to the customer. The machines are cheaper than a conventional photo­ copier, faster, more reliable and dramatically reduce printing and copying costs. Mr Collinge says savings as high as 80 per cent are regu­ larly achieved and can offer speeds of up to 7,800 copies per hour. This makes a Risograph ideal for a multitude of tasks
