Iceland and spoke of mam- birds to he found which are rare in Britain hut common there, giving as one example the snow bunting, a rare sighting on Pendle Hill, hut a bird seen daily in Iceland. Sla­ vonian grebes were filmed on the n e s t , as were numerous others. The volcanic scenery


was spec tacular, with waterfalls and lakes and tile brief Icelandic summer


producing a profusion of colourful flowers, includ­


ing in ill ions of green orchids.
