School has brought out its first magazine entirely produced and written by
the children themselves. The magazine, called ’’Three Stars” because
they form part of Hie school emblem, was tin- aoced by a grant from the Rast Kancashire branch ot
1NDRR (Industrial Rdtt- catinnal Rinks in Schools). It includes interviews
with new Kibble Valley MB Nigel Rvans and with a local animal feed firm, as well as games and quizzes. The next issue will collie

IN spite of the rain and clash of dates with the FA Clip final, Gisburn Festi val Hall was a hive of activity on Saturday afternoon when the church peo ple of St Mary’s held their annual spring fair. The Vicar, the Rev. Jonathan Lumby, welcomed everyone and thanked the
stallholders and all those whose hard work had made the event possible. He introduced Mrs Diane Rice, of Newsholme, who gave a humorous speech before
declaring the fair open. As a token of thanks, she was presented with a flowering plant by the
reigning Gisburn gala queen, Miss Helen Nickling. Stalls selling plants, cakes, gifts, bric-a-brac and a tombola did a brisk
trade and a total of £4(111 was raised. Refreshments were available and a competition to guess the weight of
